Frequent internet disconnections

I have FTTP, tried various routers and seems to be consistent. Randomly the whole internet will go down and not connect.
I have two unmanaged switches on the network, tested most of the cables when I made then and connected so don’t think it’s them.

any ideas what could be causing this?

thanks

Speak to your ISP - they will have stats if your service is disconnecting and reconnecting frequently and should be able to escalate with them.

Does it come back on by itself? Does everything lose connection? Even LAN connections?

Yes everything disconnects then yes again it comes back on by itself. Was off for a few hours yesterday. Sometimes not as long though

Thanks - just signed up. I’m not on BT, running via gigaclear. Not sure if it will work?

Check the router stats / history = no requirement for external monitoring that presumes fixed/extended IP/pingresponse.

Ive looked through the log and it's all just jibberish to me! Any clues what I might look for...

Does the lights on the router give any clues? As mentioned by contact your ISP as they will see if the drop outs are down to their connection or your set up.
Have you disconnected your switches to see if they could be the root of your issues?

Yeah I have tried but as it’s an intermittent thing it’s really proving hard to prove what it is causing it to drop out!
