Cheap phone and contract

Need a cheap smart phone and contact for my daughter. She had an iPhone 11 that she hasn't looked after so initially I refused to replace, but now she's walking home alone in the dark I feel she really needs something. Links please. Ideally aromd 10-20 a month including the sim plan, for 24 months.

Have a look at Tesco. They have some good deals on for clubcard members. If you don't have one, sign up for one. If you have a Tesco nearby, then well worth a visit. They use the O2 network, so good coverage.
Iv'e been with them for over 12 years, and update my phone every 2-3 years.

That requirement can be most-simply satisfied by a dumb phone that only needs charging once a month,
especially as walking alone in dark routinely using what may appear to be a phone of value (smartphone) may attract unwanted attention.

Dumbphone example one-off £12 for handset

and your choice of cheap no-contract 30day airtime arrangements,
which would provide future no-penalty option to convert to something more status-orientated (smartphone with/without contract) for special events such as birthdays, Christmas, achievement rewards, etc.

Very much this. Battery and reliability are more important than specs for this use case.

Get a cheap smartphone one of the Chinese makes usually are there is one almost daily in hukd and then go for a sim only deal like Lebara or Lyca usually about £48 per year for a decent contract again featured on this site....

i would look on the deal section for mobile phones and choose one around £100 mark, read the comments in the post as i find this very helpful when trying to work out which phone is the better one to get.

then get lyca or lebara PAYG sim, again have a look on deal section for these two mobile providers. i have the lyca one at the moment. where i am paying 45p a month for 3GB data and unlimited minutes and texts. lebara is around 99p a month at the moment. the lyca deals are expired as they have been banned from hukd since their cyber attack issue, but some of those deals are actually still active.
