WARNING - This thread contains a lot of people who do not understand the term "on or around", so they are getting their knickers in a twist. It's rather quite funny.

God bless the British education system!
- Ross87

Looks like the monies are going into Paypal accounts without an email being sent out (as yet)

Check your paypal accounts if you're worried because you haven't seen an email come in.

If you're wondering what to do with your vouchers....

I'm selling "I got free money from Gumtree" T-Shirts on Ebay. You can pay by paypal. They're £15 each.

OMG why are people still arguing the toss of this deal? All the info you need is in the OP!

10k+ people paid £5 for a £15 PayPal voucher, which in turn can be used against a purchase from a retailer that accepts PayPal payments

You dont have to use the £15 on Gumtree, you dont have to advertise anything with them to get the voucher, you dont have to spend it on Richard Bransons space flights...its just a simple £15 voucher to use when you pay with PayPal...but you bought the ability to use it for £5!

Those 10k+ people who bought it are WINNERS...including me...nuff said!

You have to spend the initial £5 voucher at gumtree. The £15 voucher can be spent anywhere online that accepts paypal.

So I pay the £3 and Paypal phone within 48hrs to arrange the delivery of the £9 cheque? Do you have to pay Gumtree the £3 or can I just spend it anywhere - I was going to buy lunch at Tesco at lunchtime anyway so that would be handy. Hot deal

I would imagine it's quite a good money making scheme by gumtree. The … I would imagine it's quite a good money making scheme by gumtree. The Paypal affiliate program for large merchants (such as gumtree) I believe, pay around £20 per new signup to Paypal, so they are probably profiting quite nicely.

But aren't gumtree AND Paypal both owned by eBay? So all the same company in the grand scheme of things.

This is really starting to wind me up now! I'm happy for those that have received there credit, but for those of us that have been left in 'limbo', well let's just say I'm getting slightly angry now. How much longer are we going to have to wait before we get some kind of an answer? We've paid for a deal which hasn't materialized. I feel like I've been robbed, arrrrgghh! (Apologies for the rather dramatic & OTT ending)

You HAVE to spend the 5 at gumtree deals...if all the deals are say, over 30 quid then you've got to pay the difference and THEN you get £15 paypal....but you've had to spend money on something you didn't want so the free £15 becomes pointless

No. Nothing to do with the promotion or paypal. I always use a unique throwaway spamtrap address for things like this, and I've not had a single piece of spam.

PS - your shift, full stop and question mark keys appear to be broken.
