About this deal

Apparently this has been this price for a while - it's a classic game, but stands the test of time.

For this price, better than buying whatever the latest version of Monopoly - it's 22k places above Monopoly in the Board Game Geek Charts.

If you don't like using this Amazon seller, Amazon are also selling it for a couple of £s more.

The official blurb:

The Avalon Hill Diplomacy cooperative board game is a game of negotiation, cunning, and deceit. Through making deals and forming alliances, you'll expand your empire over pre-World War I Europe. You'll have to watch your back as you make and break deals, un-hatch traitorous plots, negotiate, and outwit others to gain dominance of the continent. It's a strategy game in which players must rely on their own cunning and cleverness, not the luck of the dice, to determine the outcome. It's a great choice for those who love multi-player strategy games, European political games, and cooperative board games. For 2-7 players, ages 12 and up, and can take about 6 hours to play.

This game is absolutely nothing like monopoly. Read some reviews before you consider buying it.

Which is a good thing obviously. Monopoly is a truly awful board game.

Diplomacy is a great game but it's not cooperative - in fact I think it's probably the least cooperative game I've ever played. It's all about betrayal and deceit - making alliances only to break them in the most damaging way possible. Be warned - friendships have been broken over Diplomacy.

Although 7/10 on boardgamegeek, it's recommended for 6 or 7 players with a game lasting 6 hours! That's some commitment! LOL

This has also been in most of the works I've been in for £10

If you thought your family hated each other after a game of monopoly, just wait until you backstab your aunt after 4 hours of working so well together
