Decent deal given it's the higher RAM and storage variant, but I'd be very wary of buying it due to it being already 3 years old. Apple will be itching to find a reason to EOL software support for the M1, as pretty much nobody with an M1 is upgrading to any of their newer variants (since the improvements are nonexistent or negated by the other negatives - like the storage of the M2 or higher chips being half the speed of the M1). Maybe the unpatchable security flaw in these will be used as the excuse to force people off them.

Given the flak the 8GB macs are getting on the other threads I expect the comments on here to be positively glowing

Well this will be working in 10 years and the 8GB ones wont. The problem people have is Apple pretending to care about the environment, but they make things to fail and not be repairable or upgradable. To be fair everyone is doing that now, but Apple set the trend :/

While M1 is powerful enough for everything a regular user would use this machine for £999 for a M1 Mac (even with the other specs) is way too much.

All you Apple hater’s how many computers & upgrades have you’ve done in last 20 years.
I finally got rid of my 4gb RAM eMac. Not even one crash in that time, lost count of how many times my x3 IBM’s & Time computer crashed. Now on my 2nd Mac computer. Hopefully it will last nearly as long as old one.

And I can still boot my Windows 98 laptop. Doesn't mean it's of any use any more. Bit of a ridiculous argument. Not to mention the security risks of running such old software/OS.

I'm not sure what hating Apple (justly deserved) has to do with your ability to keep an old computer running.

I mean, come on....$1000 for a monitor stand. How about the walled garden? I have an iPad specifically for ProCreate, but it's absolutely nightmarish for transferring files to and from. Not allowing owners to even access the directory structure says everything you need to know about the arrogance of Apple, and no, I will never again install iTunes. What a disaster that pile of dog doo is.

They are hated because they are a hateful company. Notice I don't defend Microsoft or Google either. (edited)

    Ordered in Blue.

Gotta say I don't think I've ever seen a new Apple Build To Order discounted before.

And what a discount. £1,200 off.

A big thank you to Sotv.

It is about £1200 cheaper compared to the current version, but do remember the newest model does have M3 though.

Apple knows better than Us so shhhh…. Tim Cook is listening:)

16GB ram was extra £200 and 1TB was extra £400 so do your maths.
