FYI, John Lewis is offering this at the same price but comes with 2-year warranty.

Useful but a disposable item. Why? Because you can't change the battery. I remember when I worked in IT refurb having a few hundred Apple Pencils that arrived with devices or in job lots and the batteries had failed meaning they were disposable. Possibly Apple's most hateful device in terms of longevity, a true corporate product.

One of the nice things about Microsoft old Surface pens, used the tiny AAAA batteries, lasted about a year.

But I think they moves to wireless charging too in the last 3 or 4 years?

I had mine die after a couple of years with no warranty cover etc. I took it to an apple store for a replacement battery and they swapped it for a reconditioned pencil with a new battery. Cost was £29. They had these in stock but if not they would have had to order one in.

I have an apple pencil that I didnt use for a few months and now it doesn't even work or charge! I only used the thing a few times and then it sat in a drawer.

Lots of people report needing to keep the pencil charged above 0% otherwise it will die in 12 months or so :/

This is a great deal if you are looking for a pencil with pressure sensitivity for drawing.

If your plan is just to take notes on your iPad, get the Metapen. Much cheaper and the results will be the same.

This version doesn't offer Pressure Sensitivity unless I'm mistaken.

Doesn't have pressure sensitivity, a basic feature found on 30 quid pens.

Good deal if you want an official one though. (edited)

I have a wacom stylus pen that still works after 25 years. Doesn't use batteries.

The technology is there, but Apple wont make profit, so they make it a consumable and charge £££ for it.
