Well I gave it a go, got the trainers, a t shirt, and some socks, initially I just added the t shirt but it actually came out cheaper with another 10% off the total by adding the socks. Just under 36 altogether, a no brainer really.

do these have cushioning like Adidas ultraboost?

In terms of "energy return”, no. ASICS are famous for gel ie cushioning soles (just spreads the pressure). Still this is a lot cheaper than ultra boosts/ peba shoes. Would be good as a cheap pair for gym and at the end of the day all these expensive shoes only give a small percentage improvement. I'm willing to pay more because over thousands of miles I'm hoping these tiny improvements will make my joints last longer (edited)

Paid £39.06 as had to go with BlackI sland Blue and road and run quarter sock as nothing else left in my size. Still happy with the price though and hoping these help me get a better park run time than my 3 year old adidas trainers Thanks for sharing.

ASICs are smashing it. Most people will opt to add two packs of socks, which brings in a considerable profit margin for the company!
