How much power can you squeeze into a thin and light laptop? Quite a lot, it turns out. The Zenbook 14 packs a 12th gen Intel® Core™ i5processor and a 10-hour battery into an amazingly thin body. Combine that with the bright and vivid Quad HD screen and you've got an ultra-portable productivity machine. It weighs under 1.4 kg, so you can really take it with you anywhere.

Good to know

- The 512 GB SSD gives you plenty of space for all your files – and it's darn fast, too
- With the two Thunderbolt 4 ports, you can connect to just about anything
- There's also a regular USB 3.2 port, HDMI 2.1 and a MicroSD card reader
- With the lightning-fast WiFi 6E, you won't need to wait around for videos to load
- The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio - that's similar to 16:9, just a little taller (and better)

It's a good laptop, but i wouldn't pay over £500 for a laptop with 8gb ram that can't be upgraded.

Oh. Was wondering about that. Wonder how long this will last. My sisters surface pro 7 is very laggy after 2 years only 8Gb RAM too.

Will it play Leisure Suit Larry?

You pay for the form factor and built quality, not only for the specs. This is for people who want ultrabooks, value a premium look, a good battery, and they carry the laptop often with them. Lightweight, slim, compact, metal. (edited)

so you’d buy a Ferrari with a Datsun Sunny engine? It’s all about the premium look and design lines

What are the main issues you see at 8GB. For normal light weight standard usage I don't see any issue. In fact I still use a 4GB RAM laptop regularly with no obvious performance issues doing standard day to day stuff.

    Psst. Snapdragon X Elite soon.

Is this spec not always around this price?

It's up and down around it on Amazon, if you paid more, it would be bad timing.

No 16GB or ram or upgradable pathway, no deal.

Good spec otherwise but unless you’re gonna put Linux on it, forget about it. Windows 11 is a heap of junk that’s bloated and slow.

I switched when they insisted I was using their new outlook with ads hiding between received emails, not looking back

I know that the evergreen comment is to hold off because the "next big thing" is right the corner, but the laptops with the Snapdragon X plus and elite chips have the potential to be game changing in the laptop space, both in terms of performance and battery. It also looks like the entry point for these computers is 16GB RAM.

They're arm chips, like every other game changing snapdragon +windows collaboration, not all software runs on the Arm version of windows. If all you're doing is using browsing the Web & using office then yes they're great. But if that's all you're doing I don't think the improved processor matters much and it's more about the battery life, screen quality etc.

Also, those laptops won't release for months and we don't know how many manufacturers are actually supporting it. (edited)

Do none of the Asus laptops come with a UK keyboard? Shame they could be good value

Does anyone own this and can provide a review and if they recommend it?

I bought it from Amazon a while back, I use it mainly for the internet so the 8gb is ample. I paid quite a bit less but I am extremely happy with it. It feels like a quality item, the touchpad has been faultless, the speakers are good being the HK Premium, not mainstream as on Vivobooks, far louder. I will probably use it for more eventually but that's when my previous Vivobook stops running car software for faults and coding etc.
I wouldn't load that type of stuff on an expensive laptop which is why I keep a second. This was such a bargain at the time I bought it before I needed it but the Vivo battery is worn out requiring power cord all timed so that clinched it really. The 16:10 screen is also quite handy. (edited)
