Black Slate Tile-Effect Laminate Flooring - Showing at £40.32 - Scanning at £19.67 @ B&Q (Instore)

I actually fit wooden/laminate floors for a living and have just had to fit this for a customer who had also managed to blag it at this price 2 weeks ago (Thurrock store). Have to say it went together brilliantly, B&Q have definately upped their game on the laminate flooring - looks great down too. The way it clicks together is the newer, easier method - you just slot the side in then the front just bangs down and clicks into the tile in front with no problems. No faffing about having to bang it up with a mallet, one of the easiest floors I've ever had to lay and once it's clicked into place it really is sturdy, can't see it popping out.

B&Q stuff is overpriced and rubbish quality anyway, eg quickstep is miles better than any of their laminate and can be bought for £15 per sq/m - unlike alot of B&Q stuff you need to lift up 3-4 planks to slot them together which is a joke, the quickstep doesnt need it

What's the stuff actually look like once put down? £10/m2 would be pretty good if it was decent quality.

Not sure how much room you have but it's not too bad because the pack length is not so long - the tile length is shorter than a lot of wooden laminate.

It's not really a pricing error -this is a new product whose price changes depending on promos etc, sometimes not discounted at £20 per m2 (no bargain). Usually though it's £10 per m2 (a reasonable price) and it's currently that on their website. It's been on sale at the lower price for a few months now. You'd have to be unlucky to not find it at the lower price and if you do, just wait a few weeks and it drops again. I bought it last month and am very happy with it. Quality is what you'd expect from laminate and it's sized to make it look like tiles rather than longer laminate boarding.

Do you need underlay stuff when putting this down?
And can i put it down on top of ceramic tiles?

And based on the questions above, should i get someone else to do it

I bought this about a month ago - similiar price. (15% off flooring then though and we also got 15% off for spending over £50 so it worked out very cheap)

I have to say that it looks fab - The fitter was quite impressed with the quality and it was really easy to put down in my kitchen.

It was layed on the original quarry tiled floor, on top of the fibreboard type underlay that B & Q sell.
A great alternative to tiles as its a lot warmer under foot.

Ours has gone down now and I must say I am really pleased - we had a fitter put it in as part of our kitchen fit and he did say that he was very impressed with it - he has had bad experience with B&Q floors in the past (as per some of the earlier comments regarding having to lift whole rows to put next one in) but this is much improved and very easy to fit.
Also, I think B&Q have another 15% off now so I guess even cheaper - I should have waited another week, but oh well
