Anyone can make this below £180?
    Bippity's avatar
I made it £185 with topcashback £15 credit

Good price, but for me it has to be 15360 × 8640 on anything above 24" inches, otherwise I can see the pixels. Drop down to just 7680 x 4320 and it's like looking at the kids ball pit at a soft play centre.

Ooooh its one of those 27" 1080p buyers who have buyers remorse but double down with this rubbish!

oh you, I might finally upgrade my screen

Do it, I swapped my 1080p Dell for 1440p Dell, my ambition is to swap this Dell for a OLED DELL one day (edited)

Does it have built in speakers?

No and there's no 3.5mm jack either

Grabbed one of these last time they came on offer and used an employee discount thing for about the same price as this.

Really good monitor, super clear, works great out of the box on a PC and with a MacBook for work (though I do use BetterDisplay to get it looking a little better to avoid the MacOS scaling issue 👌🏻)

    100% recommend

Worth mentioning, as per the RTings review, that this is noticeably crisper than most other 1440p monitors due to the subpixel arrangement. It also has a lot more contrast than most other IPS monitors which is quite noticeable (in a very good way).

I sent back the AW2723DF (it has hardware issues with GSync) for a £480 refund and bought one of these for £180 in the last offer. The only thing I miss is 280hz smoothness, but I've now adjusted back down to 165hz. 120/144hz look weirdly choppy to me now though, no getting used to those.

Motion clarity is also better than the Alienware, and it's just a much better panel in general.

I will say though, especially after coming from the AW that had no front logo and tiny bezels, that the Dell looks good awful in person. Some psychopath in Dell's design dept still thinks it's a good idea to put highly reflective DELL logos on the front of the monitor. If a ceiling light or god forbid the sun ever catch that logo, you'll be blinded by rainbows. I'd highly recommend covering up that abomination with some kind of vinyl sticker or even electrical tape.

this wouldn't be the first time i've stuck electrical tape over a silver DELL logo.

Good piece of kit. I got it a few weeks ago for £220 from amazon and it's been fantastic. (edited)

Same. It’s been brilliant tbh. Impressed with the colours out the box, gsync working great on it. Can’t say I’ve noticed any major IPS Glow (not been overly searching for it but not noticed any). Doubt you will find a better monitor at £200-250 tbh

Got two of these and they're great

I’m thinking about picking up a second. Not finding it too wide? What size desk do you have out of interest?

Thanks! Been waiting for this to go £200 or under for a while. Bought x2 - code only works on one basket item, so you need to either generate two codes or purchase twice.

how does this compare to LG 27GR75Q-B
    27” UltraGear
    KCChief19's avatar
    Rtings compare them as follows:

"The LG 27GR75Q-B and the Dell G2724D are both 27-inch budget gaming monitors. However, the Dell is the better choice for most people. The Dell gets far brighter in HDR and SDR and is better at overcoming glare. The Dell also has better motion handling, so fast-moving objects look more crisp. Finally, the Dell supports VRR with the PS5, and the LG doesn't."

Also as a sidenote if you dig deeper and check the reviews they have updated the scores on the Dell for a new testing methodology geared towards comparing against all monitors including OLED and Mini-LED, so appears to have a lower rating than the LG (which is scored using the older methodology). I was between the 2 monitors and was waiting for Rtings to review the LG and they did and scored the LG lower (when they were both tested using the same methodology). For this price, buy the Dell, its a no brainer and you really won't be disappointed.
