It's one of those things you buy, use a few times, then ends up in the cupboard with the other fangled kitchen items.

I am with Christmasshopper on this, much nicer to buy some cheap doughnuts from a supermarket (and a lot cleaner too).

**note to self, must buy doughnuts tomorrow**

/shakes fist at this thread for making me hungry

I suppose if you make 7, you'd have to eat them all at once, while they're nice and juicy and fresh and hot  YuM!

It doesn't make proper donuts. The recipe is a yeastless one. It uses baking soda instead. The result is a rather dry cakey disc. Hardly worth the trouble it takes to clean up, when you can buy ready made donuts so cheaply. Not much entertainment value for the kids either, because it is too hot and dangerous for them to use.

Good points Christmasshopper Thanks for sharing

I'm hungry now though, a couple of doughnuts would go down nicely

Although dry cakey disc does put me off lol

I have just got home from a late night shop at Tesco. They had reduced packs of the mini- donuts ( you know the ones you sprinkle a little packet of sugar on) for 28p. And yes I did buy some.

Sorry Zico for making you hungry!!

Christmasshopper, there are other recipes you can get for donuts with Yeast to make them extra fluffy. Try putting a golden syrup swirl in the mix for some toffee donuts!! Or some small fudge pieces! MMMMMM!!
