    Genuine question:

What other sauces does the community recommend, I mean apart from the usual suspects.

Are there any hidden gems out there that most people do not know about?

Encona original. I go through bottles of the stuff!

Add butter and you have Damon's wing sauce just like that.

I make my own for wings as not keen on the amount of sugar and salt in these sauces. It's a bit random but usually a tin of toms, (bell) peppers, onions and liquidise, but not too much so still a bit lumpy. Then add garlic, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, Encona pepper sauce, Worcester sauce, etc etc.
Don't cook it, but just warm in microwave what you need and stick the rest in the fridge or freezer.

No sugar in Frank's and pretty low in salt

I buy this in this size as my son and I put it on just about everything.

But I also buy most of our sauces in this sizeish bottle (Cattleman BBQ, Heinz Ketchup, French's Mustard) when they hit sily prices on Amazon as I use a lot for my BBQ past-time.

Looks like a Halfords price match.

Either that or Toolstation have just dropped the price on their trade paint stripper.

Dumb question, but who actually buys these in such large quantities? Is it that good, or do you own a restaurant?
    robocop999's avatar
I wouldn't buy in this size, but I often use it in food recipes which require about 200ml at a time.

Guess this must be aimed at restaurants or caterers, not individuals. I like the stuff, but this is equivalent to about 25 of the regular supermarket bottles.

Hot sauce. It's saucy and hot.

I've never seen a bottle that big before, is it very hot or mild enough for someone with a tissue paper esophagus?
    Moleyman69's avatar
I wouldn’t say it is mild but it isn’t especially hot.

Not sure of the best way to describe it, other than it is a mainstream hot sauce. Very delicious, but mainstream.

If you google Franks Red Hot Scoville you should get some relatable comparisons to other products that you might be more familiar with to help you gauge its heat level.

Apologies that this isn’t the definitive answer that you might have been hoping for but spice levels are soooo subjective. Regardless,I hope that this might have helped you in some way.

Perfect for father’s day to make it extra spicy in bedroom 🌶️

Solid price if you're using it daily. I found after a while the vinegar overpowers the flavour and compared to other sauces it has a higher salt content. Moving over to Cholula and Tabasco Original I have to use less sauce and they give more of a kick.
