  250GB SLIM: £129.99 tescos will sell it for £20 more with an extra 2 years warranty. only a mug would buy this with all the faults that xbox has. £69.99 play will sell u a brand new white xbox. same chip, same games new machine.

  majority are unlikely to even be pre-owned - GAME & GameStation will shortly be closing down.
  clearing out brand new stock, as 'preowned' because they dont have to pay the maunfacturers, or some loophole like that and they have no funds to buy new games so essentially, use any credit you have with them or gamestation ASAP.

  This gens reliability is dire both 360 & PS3 have issues. Spend a little more & get peace of mind.

  You'd have to be an idiot, or very desperate, to even consider buying a pre owned console from game.
  
  They dont test any of their consoles at all, and most are the remnants of some chav who needed the money for some weed. I've had nothing but trouble with their pre owned consoles in the past, and in the present, a couple of my mates are on their 5th and 6th returns respectively within a 5 month period. Various problems from overheating, to hdd failures, to disc drive errors.
  
  On top of this, you have to remember, once they go out of business in a few months time (the very reason for this sale), should anything go wrong, and trust me it will, you will be left with a lovely expensive plastic brick.

  
  
  Game wouldn't accept my DS Lite as it had a stuck pixel, and it's very hard to spot so they certainly do run some checks. Probably depends on are the staff

  It is not obvious they are closing at all - they certainly have troubles and need to get some pounds in quick - but many companies survive such times - HMV included who loads of people said would still not be here today! With new console launches to come in next year I would be amazed in Game were not still going - in one form or another!!

  It's possible that the console manufacturers retain control of their 'new-price' so not to devalue it. Game may have stock that they need to off-load and can't advertise it as new with a silly low-price. Price regulation is common(ish) isn't it?
