Does the seat feel soft an padded or just thin lining over very hard plastic?

Judging by the reviews there don’t seem to be any complaints of this. I’d guess that maybe long journeys might be uncomfortable but anything less than 2 hours should be fine.

Does anyone have this? Can a child sleep comfortably in one of these?

I would strongly recommend going and seeing this in person. A relative recently bought a Halfords car seat and it was shocking, no way I would let my kid be driven in a car with it. It wasn't isofix and wouldn't stay still on the back seat at all. This looks very similar to it...
Go and see it in person and have the demo one fitted on the demo seat or better still in your own car. If you buy one and take it out of the box they won't take it back without a real fight, as the relative found out.
