sorted byThe portal is a pain in my a**, accidentally knock off a character and not always detecting replacing a character in the same space.... Not forgetting the effort to keep sitting up and fannying around I'd rather have paid £99 to have the same game with the old unlocks and no stupid portal cobblers....

Lego Dimensions seems to be holding value much better than Infinity and Skylanders. Some of the characters were £5 prior to Christmas.
I can see the attraction of the gaming +toys product amalgamation but I can't help feeling gamers are losing out in the end.
What will win out in the end is the game play, the gimmick of placing a "unit" on a "portal" gets tired real fast and is somewhat defeated with the Lego dimensions portal allowing what appears to be 7 units on the portal at once...
Oh my I appear to be writing a review, forgot this is HotUKDeals....
Have you played it? The hire feature is largely useless. Lasts 30 secs and in many cases the result of the hire reverts (bridges/switches/etc) after the allotted time. That and it becomes more expensive each time you hire a character to hire again (any character not even the same). Its a real con which is basically there to teach you you have to buy the figures. Which brings me to your other point, you can't just place the disks on the portal and just pretend you have whatever assembled on there. The disks that come with characters are hard written and unlock the build that accompanies them. E.g. place JW Chris Pratt on the portal and it unlocks the ability to write to the other blue discs the type of vehicle you have built (gyroscope). You then unlock in game the other vehicle models which in then re-writes to the NFC disk. Admittedly it doesn't 'know' what you have made - its more so you know what is written to the disk O_o. If you didn't place the model on the disk, how would you know what was written to it by looking? Also you'd be missing the point of the Lego element of the games...
Adds additional puzzle elements!? The cables a good length tho I admit it should be wireless and it is a little bit of a forced element to increase the physical interaction...
Thanks for the heads up on this! Just managed to get it for £16 from Tesco as I had £6 of Clubcard points. Nowhere seems to have this Level Pack in stock or for anything less than £30.
