For building the portal thing? You don't actually need to physically build it, just skip past it. Mine is still intact in the bag, I couldn't be bothered with that!

You don't even need to actually build the figures either, the only thing the game recognises is the electronic base so you can just use those.

Lego marvel super heros had a massive ammount of content and replay value, my sons spent months unlocking all the charicters long after the campaign ended. This was a game that was sold alongside my ps4 for £20!

Paying £30 to unlock something that was allready on the disk when the game shipped how is that better value?

Looking at it all their Dimensions packs are cheaper, alot of the single character packs are £12

I've never understood how lego can say that a lego figure an RFID tag and a handfull of bricks that put most sub £10 sets to shame is worth £30. This comes from someone who's son has a box full of skylanders and disney infinity figures.

​I agree, the levels are the kind of thing that used to be free extras when you bought an actual toy, being a minifigure collector it makes picking certain ones up cheaper though

it updated when we loaded it on. gets past the figure placing and the mini films. Can't get past the instructions after that. will see if I can update again. thank you

the thing about dimensions is you do get a full game with a long and great story mode and access to 3 free play world's, you also get a portal and a fair amount of lego. which is always going to push the price up. Remember too how many licenses have been used to make this game. it's very indulgent and overpriced but if you don't want it then wait a few years for it to drop. on a side note lego marvel is my favourite lego game and agree it may be the best value lego game released since lego star wars

I suspect the answer is that this particular game, unlike every Lego title and toys-to-life series before it, uses multiple licences. For the base price you get DC, Lord of the Rings and the Lego Movie (granted, that one should presumably be free) plus worlds set in at least half a dozen other licenced properties. Considering the starter set is more-or-less in line with other toys to life games I wouldn't be surprised to find the cost of those licences is entirely borne by the add on packs. Sucks for the customer but it's probably the only way you'll find this many different IP's in one game.

Very good to know, i didn't want a giant lego portal standing up that my kids would want to destroy, i just want he game to be played

Happened to us even with the update. I think in the end I had to pause and quit, then restart the game. Once it reloaded it came up at the right point unlocking an achievement too.

Still puzzled why they haven't released this for the PC. Probably better for my wallet

Spent a load on Dimensions for my son's xmas and birthday, starter pack and about 8 add on packs in total.

He's finished the game already. *sigh* he still loves it though, and Portal is one of the better packs so have some heat!
