About this deal

This series of mobile air conditioners from Meaco have an Energy Rating of A, making them their most energy efficient air conditioners yet. The increase in energy efficiency combined with the new R290 refrigerant mean these air conditioners are much more environmentally friendly. The MeacoCool MC pro series is a combined air conditioner and heater saving you space and money. Once Autumn rolls around you can switch to heat mode providing you the extra heat you need during the colder months, without having to purchase a second home appliance.

In low fan speed the reduced sound pressure level of just 53dB(A) makes this air conditioner easier to live with. The MeacoCool 10,000BTU can be used in the office or home to provide personal cooling in rooms. Removing the hot, humid air from the room reduces the relative humidity which will help you to feel cooler and more comfortable.

To get the best out of your air conditioner it is recommended that you pre-cool rooms, such as your bedroom, so that the room is nice and cool before it needs to be used. This is easy to do with the timer function allowing you to set both an on and off timer anytime between 1 and 24 hours. Combined with the use of Sleep Mode lowering the fan speed and noise level, in addition to dimming the lights on the display, the MeacoCool is the perfect product to allow you to get a good night's sleep.

The cheapest of this model that I found. Comes with all of the accessories needed for installation, including the flexible mounting for the window, velcro tape. Can also serve as a heater, dehumidifier. Apologies if I’ve missed something, it’s my first time posting.

I have one of these. They don't reduce room temp but much. Even with ice water in the tank. Maybe lost half a degree in 3 hrs...

I second that. I’ve bought the exact product from costco and I’m really happy with it, hence why I posted it. Within about 10-15mins you can feel the drop in temperature in the room.

We have one of these for two summers now and they work OK. Not as fast as cooling the room as I'd like but they work and Costco returns policy is solid. They are quite loud though. Louder than I'd like in a bedroom but eventually it becomes white noise and you sleep! Better than a baking hot bedroom in the height of summer. We find we use it for 3-4 weeks a year here in London in an attic bedroom that gets all the heat from the sun all day long....

Oh and for those that care if you put this on a smart plug when you turn the plug back on the AC returns to the setting it was at... which is good! (edited)

I have proper heat pump a/c now, it's so beautiful. I cry with joy every night that I use it

This looks very similar to Linea model which once sold for 85£ on a price glitch deal.
Meaco don't manufacture any Aircon AFAIK. Most of them rebranded Midea Units which make them awfully expensive for what they are

Definitely looks the same as the Linea. I paid £95 including delivery from SportsDirect last Oct. Came with the window seal and remote. Noisy but worth it as it cools the room in minutes.

all these portables are terribly inefficient as they suck about half the (hot) air back in from outside that they are trying to expel. However they are good at spot cooling, room cooling, yes a bit, but not great.

If we could pre-cool the room ,we wouldn't need the air conditioner in the first place!
They are basically saying use the AC to pre-cool , "before you need to use" the AC!

Wow this is REALLY 🥶 . Better spec machine on ebay from £179+ #: 276447270839 (edited)

On claimed specs that's equivalent but in reality I suspect it'll perform far worse than 10k BTU. It's just too cheap, for £170 you're looking at refurbished 5k and 7k BTU models without a heat function. But then it doesn't have a brand behind it or much of a warranty ("you pay return shipping unless we determine it's faulty" on a bulky 20kg object won't be cheap). (edited)

No info on COP or consumption for heating or any real tech details on Meaco website so not sure what they are doing...

Bit suspicious that others suggesting it's white label is accurate. Meaco are usually very keen on detailing exactly why their products are good.

Thanks OP. Was torn between this and a slightly more expensive black and decker one.

I saw a lot of positive reviews on the b&d one, but feeling like a roast in my flat over the weekend made me go to costco and buying it on the spot

This is the brand new 2024 model, think its only been out for a month or so. Pretty awesome to be able to get a discount already - voted hot

Can anyone recommend a portable AC that is a "closed loop" system? That is, that is has a separate air intake to cool off the radiator, and doesn't just suck in the air from the room?
  15. Fatso666's avatar
Wtf, £360 for what is probably the same as those cheap Chinese air conditioners you find in homebase and b&q

If you read the notes all meaco stuff is made in china (edited)

i don't have this model but i do have a very good portable air con unit that gets my bedroom feeling like a fridge. one thing i will say for portable units is they are noisy (mine was rated as one of the quiet ones as well), this doesn't bother me at night as i tune into the hum and it helps me sleep but it does wind my wife up.
just a heads up for anyone thinking for their bedroom.

    which one?

of all the people commenting, what do you recommend for portable air conditioner?
    Fatso666's avatar
Either buy a cheap no brand one for under £200, or buy a branded one like AEG for £600

The meaco looks like a rebranded no brand one and a rip off (edited)

Are the specs contradicting? Says 67.2m³ under Features, but 28m³ in the specs table further down the page.
