Not sure I agree with it not being compatible with other brands of dashcam!! If it's a standard Mini-USB it'll work with most other dashcams!! Used this with my old Viofo A118 in my previous car and a MIO MiVue 508 in the work van (edited)

Just be aware this kit doesn't include a Micro2 fuse tap which you will need for cars such as the new shape Kia Sportage

If you have a fuse box that uses blade fuses that you can access easily, inside the car and you're competent with a multimeter, you'll be able to fit this. Easy

Many might not be aware but hardwired dashcams require notification to your insurance company. My dad had an insurance claim rejected because he didnt declare it as its classed as a modification rather than a accessory (those plugged into 12v are accessories)
