Panasonic plasmas have the following tiers (from best to worst):
V & VT
G & GT
S & ST
U & UT
C3
T denotes 3D, and from the ST30 upwards also means infinite black pro panel which gives better black filters and levels.
The C3 is only 720p, but is actually surprisingly good if 1080p isn't the be-all and end-all (my parent-in-laws have one).

ST30 has a superior pannel and picture quality in both sd and hd is better than the S.
but S is still an excellent TV superior picture quality to any lcd led at this price range.
I do have the 42 inch ST30 and seen both in action.

No.
I have compared the 42ST and 42S in the shop and could notice the better quality panel in the ST. So naturally, I bought a VT lol!
If you want poor black levels, over-saturated colours and motion Blur go for the LED panel...if you don't go for a Plasma..lol

If you want a dull 'cinema' effect picture where you sit in a darkened room waiting 100 odd hours to calibrate the set, hoping that you don't get the dreaded green splodges appear.......go Panasonic Plasma LOL (_;)
How does this compare to LED screen?
I'm no expert, but I believe the S20 was modeled on the G10, and the S30 isn't a massive step up from the S20. Obviously you will get a larger screen, but I think an ST30 would the best place to start if you wanted a significant upgrade.
well the st30 was £599 with 2 free glasses , do not see what the fuss is with this at all.
That sounds like it WAS a good deal too then!
With a 5 year warranty?
Lol my Samsung is still fantastic, cannot fault this model one bit. I am looking for a new one as my son plays more an more on his PS3 so ill put it in the adj dining room an treat myself to a new one. The sammy still has 2 years left on the warranty and still looks better than most I've seen in local stores.
I do apologise, how will you sleep tonight....
SMART TV too
Yeah positive. It's called VIERA connect

'Surprisingly the P42S30 is the only model in the S30 range; there are no other size options. So if you want a 50-inch Panasonic plasma set that doesn't have 3D, you'll have to step up to the TX-P50G30B (which adds Panasonic's contrast-boosting Infinite Black technology plus THX accreditation and USB recording), or down to the P50U30B (which doesn't have any contrast filters or multimedia/online playback options).'
I'm tired, but now confused too. Does this TV exist?

Very very tempted.
2,000,000:1 contrast ratio
The Amazon one isn't full HD
I don't care lol, parents are footing the bill and they don't know lol.
