About this deal

seems like a good price all sizes £250+ elsewhere

The Scree features a relaxed and upright geometry for comfort, whether you’re interested in commuting or long adventure rides both on and off the road.

Designed for discovering gravel riding, the SCREE is simple and versatile. The disc brakes are effective even in the damp.

Online bike orders are carefully prepared and packed for shipping. Upon delivery, some final assembly is required and you may need to make adjustments to the components (such as gears and brakes) prior to use. All necessary tools are included in the box.
If you would like your bike fully built please contact your local Evans Cycles store who will complete this for a £25 build fee.

Most of those reviews sound like people who have no idea about setting up a bike and doing safety checks. If you buy a bike online in a box there is no bike shop to set it up for you and it will need more adjustment over the coming weeks as components bed in etc. You need to be mechanically competent to buy a bike in a box like this.

It's a competent and great value gravel bike if you can set it up correctly.

I wouldn't buy a bike from Mike Ashley

    Why?
    He doesn't make them.
I bought a Whyte 807 a year ago from Evans and converted it to mid drive ebike.
Have done 2500 miles on it.
Like I said in previous post only just spent £50 on it a year later.

The specifications on this bike are a little scarce.
We all know the Sports Direct pricing model so can't expect much.
However, when claiming an original price of £550 you would like to know the basics. Basic information is missing like the chainset, wheel size, weight, etc.

Amazing value, there is at least one review you can read, components are decent entry level components and the package overall is very good. However there is a lack of low gearing. It's not exactly setup for easy hill climbing. When you need to replace the cassette probably best to use a wider range model like a 11-42T or even 11-46T.

This is not the Schwinn of old, this is just a BSO, steer clear

Gets a reasonable review from cyclinguk.

Looks like a bargain if you can deal with the high gearing.

How are they able to sell at this price? Even with low level components it's hard to beat.
I recently spent £50 on 3 basic replacement parts for mine.

    Bike shaped object.

Ironically enough it's probably cheaper to buy this instead of buying just the wheels

Thanks, Op! Looks like a decent at this price!!
3.15% available with TopCashback, if you use them.

It's not going to be a great bike by any means, but the price is crazy. I certainly wouldn't be doing any proper adventure riding or long commutes on it, but it'd probably be good as a starter/casual bike or a backup bike for when you're getting your bike serviced.

Moving to another country where bikes are expensive and likely to be stolen. Would you take this or the Triban RC100? Or just a second hand? Hmm
