This was previously posted by deanturner12576 but got shouted down by a few and then spammed off the board.
He posted to say that if you order the AS-15 from Argos, they actually give you the much more expensive AS-30.
Well I decided to have a bit of faith and give it a whirl. I went and ordered an AS-15 and they did indeed give me an AS-30.

sorted byCold already? £149 for a camera that costs between £189 and £199? Really?
Let me get this right.
This is listed on the Argos site as the lower spec AS15, but if I go and buy this, it'll be the AS30 that they give me?
Even though the AS30 isn't listed at all on the Argos site......
Great price for the AS30, but not really for the AS15.....
Sweet!
Ta.
None of my local stores have stock, so my only option is delivery so I have no means of knowing I'll get an AS30.

The op with a brand new account refusing to post proof was suspicious.
Cheers for verifying.
Ordered on yesterday on the off chance that he wasn't lying. Might go pick it up today; no idea what I would use it for though, already got a gopro hero3
You have distance selling regulations if online so you can always return it within 7 days. Nothing to lose

Not sure about you guys but the AS15 picture looks better to me.

So did your e-mail confirmation state AS30?
You won't know until you pick it up.
The email confirmation only states the product, which is the cheaper model.
I guess Argos are OK with returning un-opened stuff? Reason I ask is they say its exempt from their 30 day policy, and equally that click and collect is exempt from distance selling.

Cool, thanks. I've managed to find one in stock and reserve it, but it's a bit of a drive. Will wait see what you get (and if anyone else has any success).
Very good point
Yes, you wont be able to return it if collected from store only if you order online you will have 7 days to return under the distance selling regs but you could ask to see the item first before buying it

The receipt says Sony Action Camera only, no model number.
Thanks to deanturner12576 for yesterdays post.
And it's excluded from their money back guarantee so I guess you should ask to see it first and then pay just in case.
I got mine in Birmingham so it would appear to be widespread.
Looks like the newer AS30 doesnt go as deep in water.
They told me it was exempt from returns - but i asked nicely if they'd take it back provided i didn't break the seals and they agreed. Even wrote on the receipt and signed it!

That's hardcore, I got vertigo just watching it. oO
Makes Jackass look like a kindergarten.
Yeah I saw that too. Price difference sort of makes up for that though and there might be a better underwater lens at some point.
Argh!
The nation really needed to know that!
For underwater filming you need to change the front cover lens:
