I consider the books to be spoilers for the best current TV show

OK it *is* a region issue. Whilst I'm in the UK, my virtual machine is in Luxemburg. Here's the fix which BadAssMofoChris told me:

    1) Get ZenMate extension for Google Chrome
    2) Change your Public IP to UK - simple process
    3) Buy buttons magically appear!

As the grail series ended at what I would class as a logical point it felt a bit strange to pick up the characters.
But its Bernard Cornwell and the way he writes (with such detail and research) its hard to find any fault.
Its a great book which I couldn't put down, a few late nights reading into the early hours where had. To be fair with the exclusion of Stonehenge (it was ok, but not a touch on the grail or warlord books) I've really enjoyed all of his books which I read and had the same issue, the inability to stop reading them.

You could probably convert them to mobi using Calibre if you want to read them on Kindle.
  6. joedastudd's avatar
Worth noting they have Bernard Cornwell's 1356 (link) for the same price. Brilliant read and follow on to his grail series.

Oh my word...this is a convoluted process if you want to read these on Kindle, but here goes:

    Buy the book on Sainsburys.
Download the file to your computer (it's not an epub but an acsm file)
You then have to get Adobe Digital Editions and sign in to it.
Double click on the acsm file and it'll download the epub and open in Adobe Digital Editions. Right click on it and go to 'show in folder'. You can drag it out from there if you want to store it somewhere else.
Use Calibre along with DeDRM to convert the epub to mobi and put that mobi file in your Kindle's 'documents' folder.
    DONE

Or...just wait for Amazon to reduce them.

Nope, Sainsbury's books need either Adobe Digital Editions on a PC, or a specific tablet / smartphone app. The site explicitly says "unfortunately, you can't read Sainsbury's eBooks on a Kindle device"

Would they work on a nook?
  14. yarkiebrown's avatar
how about nooks and smartphones? the nook allows you to import other ebooks, just worried the formatting might be a bit iffy
  15. yarkiebrown's avatar
seen on the site nooks are fine and they have smartphone apps… nice one, complete second half of the collection for the same price i paid for the first book
  16. deleted108711's avatar
If you get a pdf you can email it to your kindle address with convert in the title. This will make it work on the kindle.
  17. markslavin's avatar
Anyone know if these would upload to Google Books? You can upload ePubs and PDFs.

Wil these be readable through and iPad? Using dropbox?

How the flip do you buy them?! There doesn't seem to be any 'buy now' buttons - I've registered, logged in - nothing.

you can read ePub books (which these are) on iPad - try Bluefire reader You need to use Adobe Digital Editions as the 'middle man'

PS I see Sainsbury's themselves have iOS and Android apps if you wanted something 'branded'

Are any of you who are having browser issues located outside the UK? I am (or rather, my virtual machine is located in Luxemburg) so I wonder if that is the issue?
  25. Lilmonkey's avatar
Thanks guys.. yes it was a location issue.. VPN connected to Europe caused the problems.. If in the UK then no issue

When converting them for kindle, do the chapter/skeleton things carry over, or is it text only?

Heat added for the Amazon price match discovery! Note this price is for each single book only and not the collections. Took a couple minutes to locate all 7 on the store through my Kindle but absolutely worth it and looking forward to finishing these after borrowing the first few a while ago
