I know. I spoke to a few people working there and they told me about the purchases they are planning to make - one wants a 3DS for his daughter, so they bought a game this week and are buying the 3DS next week for 50% off.

One lady said you can get multiple vouchers this week and spend them all next week. So you can get a cycle helmet, a PS3 game and some baby clothes this week, on three transactions, and get three vouchers.

Then, next week, you buy the bike, the console and the baby cot, and save £150 on each one.

Huge thanks to the person who flagged this in the first place. I was queuing at Bolton this morning from 8.15am with 4 of my kids, expecting everything interesting to have gone and to go home with a huge Lego set. The manager came out and walked down the queue handing console tickets to people for what they wanted - he signed them and they were stamped too, so boo to you if you were trying to cheat the system, and well done to them for not having any hassle in store. We were 14th in the queue of about 35, and came home with a 320gb PS3 for £125. The kids are delighted. It was lovely to see that all the people either side of me in the queue were just after 1 console for themselves too. Thank you!

It was basically like the Currys/PC World 97p games deal.

Unemployed turned up first in line and wiped the consoles clean. Nobody is going to need 3 Xbox's, 5 PS3's and 2 3DS's. Of course its to sell on. The poor parents who brought their kids along to buy 'em a console got nothing. Thats why I call 'em greedy scoundrels!

Toys R us should have been prepared. Limited to 2 per person or something.

Can this be moved back to Deals please? I want to see how hot it goes. See my photographic proof and testomonials from Toys R Us Staff this morning.

It WILL work, provided they have the stock of the items you want next week,

Remember, it's Preston Deepdale and Bolton too.

so trying to find the most expensive item, an outdoor play centre by plum at £1500 (the £2500 is out of stock!), would cost me £750??????

    I could like this deal!

It's only in Preston and Bolton - no other branchs. Not Manchester, not Croydon, not Southampton. I spoke to a member of staff about this deal and, because it sounded too good to be true, I asked another member of staff, then another. The third one told me that he bought a game for the 3DS this week, and was buying the 3DS next week. This is a genuine offer - EVERYTHING is included, apart from gift vouchers (which includes mobile phone top ups etc) and baby milk. So I said to the lady, "So you're telling me that I can spend £20 today, then come back next week and get a half price laptop, a ps3 or a bike or something?" She replies, "well, this branch doesn't sell laptops any more, but yes you can get the discount on any single item."

"That sounds too good to be true!" I said. She replied, "Yes, but it is - it's a fantastic offer."

Now, there are 2 issues with this deal -

Will they have enough stock of PS3s to go round all the hungry HUKD'ers that turn up at 8.30am on Monday morning?

    and

Can they change the terms and conditions at any time?

Well. we don't know about the stock levels, but they *COULD* say, "You know what, we just decided that games consoles are not included after all." But I doubt they would be able to cope with the complaints from the people like me, who were explicitly told that games consoles WERE included by the staff, including the guy who's buying a 3DS for himself next week.

It's a genuine offer folks! Now, please stop ringing random branches and getting half truths and speculative information. Bolton and Preston only. 50% off everything except baby milk and vouchers.

Its already been confirmed by multiple people.

This Is NOT Nationwide & In fact is @ 2 Stores ONLY Preston & Bolton.

To Get the voucher in either of these 2 store you make a purchase over £20 and it is on your receipt, the reason the person above didn't get a voucher is they even said themselves they went to SOUTHAMPTON, i.e. deal not on.

The probability is these stores have and will have only rubbish left in stock.

As has been said before there will be a lot of dissapointed people who thought they were getting £75 Xbox 360 Slims and the like.

If it was a nationwide deal don't you think they would have advertised it?

I'm sure they could sqeeze it in to a slot on their website and or Facebook page as a minimum.

It will be just the select stores, limited stock, anything decent will be snapped up by staff who have been given first dibs (as part of their redundancy packages no doubt) as the stores will then be closed.

Sounds like a cracking way to go. Get loads of people spending £20 on full priced stock before getting them to buy a load of junk at 50% off that they didn't want anyway. Get a load of free advertising thrown in to the mix.

Just jealous because I'm down on the South Coast with no hope of getting in on the action. Good luck to the rest of you nearby.
