About this deal

THEY WENT FROM ZEROES TO HEROES IN ONE FANTASTIC WEEKEND.

If you can’t get a date… make one! After proving himself the king of heartfelt teen flicks with Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club, writer-director John Hughes infused the genre with a hefty dose of wacked-out sci-fi comedy in Weird Science, a film where every teenage boy’s wildest fantasies come to life.

Perennially picked-on high school nerds Gary (Anthony Michael Hall, Sixteen Candles) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are sick of their status at the bottom of the social food chain. Using Wyatt’s computer, the two hatch a plan to create their dream woman – and following a massive power surge, that woman unexpectedly appears in the form of Lisa (Kelly LeBrock). Gorgeous, intelligent, and blessed with limitless magic powers, Lisa makes the boys’ dreams come true… but what about Wyatt’s gun-toting psycho older brother Chet (Bill Paxton), and the two bullies (Robert Downey Jr and Vamp’s Robert Rusler) determined to put them back in their place?

Inspired by EC Comics and boosted by a killer soundtrack (including the classic title theme by Oingo Boingo), Weird Science has never looked better than in this new 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray edition, including an extended version of the film and hours of bonus content.

Teen misfits Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) design their ideal woman on a computer, and a freak electrical accident brings her to life in the form of the lovely, superhuman Lisa (Kelly LeBrock). She outfits Gary and Wyatt in cool clothes, surprises them with a Porsche and helps them stand up to jerks Ian (Robert Downey Jr.) and Max (Robert Rusler). Critics Consensus
Hardly in the same league as John Hughes' other teen movies, the resolutely goofy Weird Science nonetheless gets some laughs via its ridiculous premise and enjoyable performances. Read critic reviews

Amazon price matching HMV, Zavvi and Arrow itself.
Cheaper at Zavvi with an extra 10% off for red carpet members.
Also, an extra 10% off at Arrow Video with code BRUMHORROR, though they charge £4.00 delivery - so only useful if buying a few things - their sale "Easter Carnage" started yeaterday and has triggered the others to drop their prices.

And all do Quidco/Topcasback except Amazon and Quidco is actually double cashback today only.

I had a look but they dont seem to have any of the newer releases on sale just the older ones, i was hoping for discounted 'invasion of the body snatchers'.

Great film. So funny. A grown women grooming two teenage boys. Never would be made today.

I dont think grooming is the right word as she doesnt try and sleep with them, she just teaches them how to attract women their own age.

Arrow has had the 4K release at £18 twice now since Dec 2023, so at this point this price has almost become the normal RRP. (edited)

HMV are price matching. Even cheaper with a 20% off code. Free delivery over £20 or enjoy a stroll into HMV or Fopp. Link.

A 20% off code from where?

Worth it for the poster alone! Rewatching the film itself recently I kind of found it a bit painful as its not aged well compared to similiar films of the era like Ferris Bueller, Breakfast Club, Goonies etc
