The truth is that people nowadays don't have their own opinion. So many people are just sheep that follow what other people say. I categorize them under the title "brainwashed". Anyone who wants to just play an enjoyable game on their own or with friends and family then this console wipes the floor over the competition. All the PS4 and Xbox One consoles are good for are players who want to play new versions of Fifa, CoD etc. Which to be fair are all exactly the same. Graphics now make me feel like I'm watching a movie rather than playing a game. Bring back the Nes, Snes, megadrive they all beat the new consoles hands down.
Zelda is due out in 2016. And so what? Can't wait another 6 - 12 months for it to be finished? What does it matter if the Wii U is a "big flop", whatever that means? It has a decent library of games and is at least as worthwhile as a Xbox One or PS4. Have you ever actually enjoyed playing games instead of worrying about how many other people bought the console or how shiny the chips inside it are? It just seems like most people that describe themselves as "gamers" are stupid children and it's really sad.
Also there is zero evidence the "nx" is anywhere near being released. There's no information about it even. Console development is continuous and no doubt Sony and Microsoft are doing work towards their next consoles too. The only reason Nintendo mentioned the nx in that press conference is because they were announcing Nintendo games for mobile platforms and they wanted to reassure long term customers they weren't abandoning dedicated gaming consoles.
I have also brought Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario 3D Land, Lego City Undercover, Bayonetta 1+2, Teslagrad, Wonderful 101, Mario Party 10, Pikmin 3, Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush, Zombie U, Hyrule Warriors and Rayman Legends. Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World, Starfox, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Rodea the Sky Soldier all pre-ordered as well. When I look at the games I'd want for PS4 and Xbox One I can think of really just the Forza games and Uncharted 4 as exclusives that would get my interested in buying those consoles.
Another great thing with the Wii U is that as I did yesterday is that you can easily just move the console from one room to another and play many of the games on the gamepad screen without the need of a tv. The excuse that you have to charge the gamepad is redundant because you have to charge all modern controllers now and you and you purchase other controllers than just the gamepad to play if it's not your cup of tea.
Just because people don't like what you like, it doesn't mean they're wrong / brainless. People have formed their own opinions, and they're different to yours. Not wrong - different. Calm your ego.
1) So what if people do? Does the fact that people enjoy football / FPS games really make them inferior in some way? Because I play a fair amount of FIFA and Titanfall, am I an inferior 'gamer' to you?
2) Just plain wrong. Okay. Well, you see that huge list I made above of awesome games from a wash of genres? How many of those games are on Wii U?
Sure, a football game and a game where the key aim is to be as stealthy as possible while moving around revolution era Paris are 'exactly the same'. Jaysus.
You know what? If you like games that look dated, you can still play them. Your NES will still work, so will your SNES and MegaDrive. No need to take a dump over all new consoles because they don't cater to your infinitesimally small niche, that has already had its day. But there are also some great games like Strider, Super Time Force and Volgarr the Viking - available on Microsoft and Sony's consoles - that take heavy cues from the 8 and 16-bit era.
Live and let live. We're only talking about games, after all.

I haven't played all those games, some of the genres don't really interest me. But for every game on that list, I know people that would vouch for it being something worth playing.
Games are not 'my life'. You're saying one thing and contradicting yourself, by accusing me of such, you're implying that you're 'better' than me (or anyone who does have enough time to play lots of games). Adding the equivalent to a 'no offence' before an insult doesn't make it any less insulting.
Now please, stop telling people that you're better than them. It's very unbecoming.

I used £77.50 worth of Nectar points, so paid just over £100 for this package. (Or less if you factor in the voucher and £10ish for selling the games. Which I do.)
Well chuffed. And this console war stuff... I think it depends a lot on your personal situation, just as much as anything, whether this console or that console is best. I used to love playing Half Life 2 on my PC, and was pretty unbeatable on Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the SNES back in the day, but now I'm a Dad there's nothing I like more than to play Mario games with the aforementioned toddler. I don't really want to be teaching him how to do head shots until the zombie apocalypse happens. He's also pretty good at Mario Kart 8, as it happens. No, seriously. I guess the point is that there are great games on every system? Peace, love and gaming, brothers and sisters! <3:{
The camera control on most games is set so that if you want to look up, you press your stick up. If you want to look down, you press down. That's known as the 'Y' axis. However, most games allow you to 'invert' the axis in the control settings, so that if you want to look up, you press down on the stick and if you want to look down, you press up. To me, and a lot of others, 'inverted' seems more realistic, a bit like a plane's joystick - when the pilot wants to climb, he pulls the joystick back towards him etc.
This picture demonstrates how 'inverted' Y axis works. If you stuck a stick on the back of the figure's head to control its movement, you can see how the natural thing to do would be to pull the stick down to make him look up etc.
I'm not saying that everyone wants to play 'inverted'. My son doesn't play inverted and he's used to it, I just think that leaving out the option to invert was a seriously thoughtless/careless omission by the developers. of this game
id say u should try it. ive aleays been on a playstation side but got wii u lately and im enjoying it. so go for it plus its an amazing price for the 32gb model
I've have both consoles and they compliment each other really well. There is now a great back catalogue available including Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, DK: Tropical Freeze and Wonderful 101 plus Splatoon is out very soon!

I guess people defending the Wii U are having to defend it against a certain type of 'gamer' who like to criticise Nintendo-style games (which since the Wii U doesn't have much else is a fair criticism if you don't want Nintendo-style games). It's also about whether the Wii U compares to the other 'next gen' consoles. The majority of the games you list can be played on a PS3 which kind of makes them irrelevant in terms of why you might want to buy a Wii U. While Nintendo are having to support the Wii U single-handedly they are at least managing to provide a range of well produced & entertaining games covering a range of tastes. This is more than can be said for any other game developer. That's the main defence for Nintendo & it's a better one than 'it has 3rd party support'. Criticising Nintendo is like bullying the nicest & most decent person at school & you should obviously feel ashamed of yourself. Also I'm drunk so ignore me if you like

I'm afraid from all I've heard games are tied to the console not your account. I believe I heard Nintendo announced they are going to change this sometime in the future

You can do a System Transfer from one Wii U to another
the new Nintendo NX is only being announced next year as it's not even officially announced just leaked they was thinking of the next console, so probably be released the year after which gives the wii u atleast another 2 years of life like the xbox one and Ps4 as they will be 4 years old then but they will probably scrape another 2 years on top of ps4 and xbox one lmao. with the amiibo trend I would think Nintendo would be expanding the range on consoles to take advantage of the trend.

Oh please. I'm no fanboy of any platform, and have owned every Nintendo and Sony console to date. However to throw around comments suggesting that the Wii U wipes the floor with true next gen is just ludicrous. Have you actually seen the software library for the PS4?
