Thanks for pointing out! Absolute deal breaker

I can confirm this phone is very decent and paid £145 from Ali express for 8gb version.

Reviewer commented that black is devilish to keep smear free, this maybe better choice, but if you cover.

5g is missing in this phone a big let down otherwise would have gone for it

Helpful, also has good comparison with Redmi Note 13 which OP mentioned in the description.

Echo was others have said, no 5G is a no here too.

Absolutely incredible specs for a phone below 200 quid, this is a bargain mate

Agree. Much heat for the deal 🔥

Yeah decent spec for the money. I can see this getting even cheaper on Xiaomi site but not for a while (edited)

Mediatek Helio G99 ultra... Anyone in the knowledge as to whether this is decent? The internals are what I know nothing about but I hear people talking of Snapdragon, mediatek dimensity and Helio, are there any Achilles heels of any of them? Overheating, unreliable?
    nigelbutler's avatar
Its ok - seems to compare to snapdragon 695

6nm is pretty good nowadays - the lower the number the better & is better for battery efficiency

Roughly £7 cheaper if you buy it from Amazon Italy directly

Comparing this in GSM arena to my Poco F3 that I bought at a similar price point a couple of years ago (cue responses talking about time machines), the AnTuTu and GeekBench performance ratings are massively lower in the M6 Pro. Though with the F5 being over £300 these days I guess this is the new price reality for Xiaomi.

    Why so BIG !!
Can't we have a sensibly sized Poco !

Because too many phones are designed by men.

I got this from AliExpress for £135, with the Global Software. If you're happy to wait around three weeks for delivery, could be worth considering, for the savings.
    Excellent phone and love it.
Some people might say it doesn't have 5G and the processor type is slow, but I have not experienced any of this.
I'm not a demanding game player, but use plenty of other apps, and these all run buttery smooth and load quickly. The 4G signal on ID Mobile always seems quick.
Has a lovely AMOLED screen which you'd expect to find on a phone twice the price, underscreen finger print reader, which is quick and the photos I've taken are very decent.
Brilliant all rounder phone for the price!

I'm patiently waiting for a deal on X6 Pro... How does this one compare to it with the same Ram / memory?
    nigelbutler's avatar
    X6 Pro has better processor
  19. Hundal45's avatar
This better than the redmi note ten pro?
    Crossbow's avatar
Not a good enough upgrade I feel, a Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G will be superior in some areas over this & the camera will be noticeably better as well. (edited)
  20. lloydt69's avatar
what is the camera like on this
    Crossbow's avatar
It's average but not terrible, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G has a noticeably better camera for comparison gsmarena.com/pic…955 (edited)

Weakness is the camera of thats your thing. But then that's a xiaomi, redmi thing. My poco x4pro takes a terrible picture even with a gcam port

Camera not too shabby in Note 10 Pro. How would this compare?

Is this worth going for over the Poco X6 (non pro version) I'm tied between this, Poco X6 and Honor Magic6 lite

Absolute noob with phone specs and what they actually mean tbh

    Cheers

Not keen on Poco. Thought usability would be same as Xiaomi but it's not. Going from mimix to an F3 was not a nice experience
    piggymou's avatar
Mi Mix was always the premium range though. So not sure what you are complaining about..
  27. hotter-deal-scan-the-qr's avatar
You can get it cheaper off AliExpress, great phone though. As a quick tip, it's cheaper to pay for things on AliExpress by USD if you have a fee free card.
    JamesB83's avatar
You can, I ordered one for £142 not he charged customs. Liked it enough that I ordered another for a family member at £136. But there's always a chance you'll be hit with customs tax which will bring it in line with this kind of price
  28. s_mQR4's avatar
Waiting to jump on a new poco i honestly think this one looks better than the x6 design wise
  29. za_jarro's avatar
Can I put a custom rom to get rid of the cap
    dominickthedonkey's avatar
Wont need to, most of the bloatware you can simply just uninstall and delete.
  30. vwblack's avatar
Is this any better than the Redmi Note 10 5g?
  31. jut351's avatar
Great deal but without 5g it's a no from me. Pity.

My daughters m5s ended up taking a 30 minute dip in the river the other week, I'd definitely get this as an upgrade/replacement if I hadn't already replaced her phone with another m5s, which is a great value good spec phone-but this looks like great value too and a real step up in specifications. Actually, I'm probably better off with the M5 anyways as there's always the risk the new one will end up trashed as well
  35. hypermind's avatar
Which will be better value for money? This or a refurbed Pixel 6?
    dominickthedonkey's avatar
Depends, if you want long battery life go for this, if you want an excellent camera then the pixel 6. You will probably still get another few years updates on the pixel 6.

I've got the x3 Pro, it's a couple of years old now, it has been a really good phone. So this looks a like a good phone and deal.

See people are commenting on this not having 5g, just after some thoughts, I had a Note 8 Pro, loved it but it was looking a bit battered and then I had the chance to get a Samsung A32 5g for a stupid price so thinking well it cant be bad its a Samsung and finally I get 5g, I swopped and to be honest firstly the phone is terrible, side fingerprint reader is a total pain, I reckon about 30% read rate at best, it it forever slowing to virtually a halt and I am only using email, social media and maybe Tomtom when I am driving but at times for no obviously reason its just painfully slow, something I have never experienced on the Xiaomi and then the 5g, well I was so looking forward to super fast speeds, better connectivity, but 5g, well certainly on this phone anyway it worse than 4g and it does not seem to drop down that easy if it cant get 5g so is 5g really worth it at the moment as in, is it a deal breaker ?, the only thing I can honestly say was better was the camera on the Samsung and it was still not miles ahead but yes visibly better generally and of course in lower light but I do photography so only ever use it for quick snaps or else I am using the proper camera.

I don't use a ton of data, I have all my music on the phone, all my pictures, watch some Youtube if I am sitting waiting for something but I do need to be able to get on a call in Teams reliably and sometimes they can last 8-9 hours.

I don't want to spend a fortune, I was eyeing up the Motorola 40 Edge then saw this and it also looks nice but did like the wireless charging of the Motorola, sadly missed the £162 offer on that the other day.
    Walkerscrisp's avatar
From a 5g point of view, I wouldn't personally let it bother you. I've noticed no benefit from 5g, and my current phone pixel 8 struggles to maintain a connection when it switches from 4g to 5g. Think that's a weakness of the phone though.

I don't know how poor/good the camera is on this model, but I wouldn't expect too much from it as cameras aren't known to be the greatest these phones.

This looks to be a great price for what you are getting though if you are ok with using a phone this size, as.its quite big. But aren't most phones these days.
