Didn't realise the Note 3 and S4 were considered budget phones.

No.What about the whole pletora of chinese phones between £40 and £150 Android phones ?So your comment is a bit useless, singled out 2 models that only make probably 1% of Android market. My point was you can have the full Android experience on VERY low cost phones (there are lots of deals for GOOD phones here on HUKD for under £80) and you cannot do the same for IOS.Clearer for you now?

Ah, so we have a clueless patronising type, interesting.

Samsung Galaxy S4 sold 40 million units by October 2013. Note 3 sold 10 million units by December 2013. HTC One Sold 5 million units by May, it launched in March. These aren't small figures, and this isn't even taking into account owners of previous generations of high-end phones who didn't bother to upgrade. Now then, say you're an app developer targeting the richer market, which statistic do you think matters more, the absolute number of higher-end phones for a particular OS or the relative number of higher-end phones for a particular OS when compared to total devices running that OS? Once you reach the answer, let me know who is the one making the useless comments.

Thanks for posting! It would be nice if there was an app for android as well. There's are far more Android phones now a days than ios but developers tend to develop an app for ios first.

Not at all. Did it make your day claiming Android devices are a budget option? Clearly you know nothing about Android or it's devices. You stick to your overpriced and locked down toy.

How are your comments useful... if you were right, why would this discussion start in the first place... developers would go the Android route first. IOS remains prevalent for higher spenders, while Android dominates China, India and similar markets. Or would you say it's the other way around... And let's see if those markets also have specific piracy patterns... I know as a developer I would prefer US market against China/India.

Matey... go back to your whole and stop trolling... you made a comment about spelling and that is it.
Now you are somehow justifying that useless trolling saying that you have a problem with the content of my post??

Can't you see that doesn't make sense? You can't just not explain why you say something and just send me do things like you know better... you just prove what simple minded you are. A discussion needs facts, research, proof...

And how silly is telling me to stick to a certain device... don't even understand which one you mean? If you mean I should stick to Android, Android certainly is not a locked down device, and I am an Android owner/fan and posted numerous times on HUKD about the evil Apple is bringing to the world by their aggressive marketing tactics.

If you mean I should stick to Apple, how does that make any sense... since you clearly have no idea what I own.

Did it make my day claiming Android devices are a budget option??? Ohh... now I got it, your IQ is not very high, sorry for you.
If you can read, read again. Simply put, I was stating the obvious, you can have full Android experience on £40 phones (see Alcatel deals on HUKD), £50 phones (see Huawei phones deals recently on HUKD), £99 phones (please please see Moto G deals)! I never seen an iPhone deal for less than £100... Actually probably not less than £400... How can you not see the difference...

Are you embarrassed of making a foul of yourself?

Obviously Android is budget option compared to Apple. Christ... me myself posted here about ten times at leaast that my Samsung tablet is better in any way than the iPad retina (I use them both for the last 4-5 months) although the Samsung is almost half the price. If you seem to have all this free time on your hands, check my past comments and see.

And I never said "it is a budget option" but "more of a budget option"... Did you feel offended matey? Touchy... Do you need reassurance from the people around you to make you get through the day?

Eh? This discussion is taking place because there are other reasons behind some developers going for iOS and leaving out Android. Some false belief that Android is the poor man's OS isn't one of them. The more rampant piracy on Android along with development on Android being a greater headache due to a much greater dispersion of devices running the OS are the main reasons imo. This discussion is mostly pointless anyway considering how there are many free/paid android-exclusive apps too.
