Not necessarily, latency (time taken for the data to traverse the network) and bandwidth (amount that can be carried at once) do not correspond directly to each other in that you can have a connection with a massive amount of bandwidth but very poor latency. For online gaming latency is very important, the best connection I've ever had for gaming was a 512Kb/s cable connection despite having been on connections with far more bandwidth none of them have had the super low latency that connection offered. Sadly that company eventually gave up catering for online gamers.
