Call of Duty: Black Ops - All Supermarket Deals (£4.97 - £44.99)

Thought I'd make a thread with all the prices for every supermarket in, just to save time/space.

Asda

£4.97 When you trade in Fallout New Vegas or Fable 3 or Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2. £36.97 on it’s own.

Sainsburys

£27.97 when you spend £30 or more in-store. £37.97 on it’s own.

Tesco

£25 when you also purchase 2100 Xbox Live Points Card, 3 Months Xbox Live Gold Membership, £20 PS3 PSN Card. £39.90 on it’s own.

Morrisons

£29.99 when you buy any other chart game, £39.99 on it’s own

Game

£24.99 when bought with any other Xbox 360 or PS3 Chart title. Also £24.99 when traded in with selected games

Gamestation

£24.99 when bought with any other Xbox 360 or PS3 Chart title.

HMV

£42.99 or £7.99 when you trade in Medal of Honour

Blockbuster
£44.99 or £0.99 when you trade in two of these games : Medal of Honour, Fable 3, Fallout New Vegas, MMA, F1 2010, Star Wars The Force Unleashed

Details

All prices where confirmed in the national newspapers on 8th November 2010. Prices may be subject to stock levels and terms and conditions. Check in-store for exact details. The relevant adverts can be seen in The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Star

-----------------------------

For the Sainbury's deal you can NOT get the deal if you buy two copies of the game. It has to be £30 of groceries together with the game in one transaction. This means you can not do the deal by buying petrol either.

- Cuddy

£29.99 @BestBuy for first 500 copies sold!!!
- *Sloman*

edit - ASDA - if pre-ordered price was £36

Does anyone know if selected HMV stores will be opening at midnight for this?

Heat added if only for taking the time to research that and type it out. Thanks

Thanks for providing this info. I have to say though that they're a let down after last year! Think I'll be doing the MoH trade in at HMV and getting Black Ops and a pair of X11's for £40.

cheers

Great post

Selected stores will be opening. I live in East London, local HMV is Stratford opening at Midnight and same with GAME you can find a list of GAME stores opening on their site. HMV don't have a list that I know of.

I traded in MOH yesterday for £35 at HMV to get COD for the cheap £7.99 then used the SimplyGames offer and bought MOH for £27 to get a fresh copy.

Tescos looks the best deal if your bound to use the MS points.. are MS points are a competitive price? As in they havent inflated the price for this deal have they?
#10

Hmm Tesco seems the best deal to me, only problem is they usually run out of 2100 points cards really fast! Way too many places wanting trade in of games you will have paid £30+ for in the last few weeks :(
#12
Great work Cheers :D
#13
Very dissapointing.
The supermarkets have ensured that there will be more pre-orders from traditional retailers next time.

Me too! Asked in my local Asda about expected price on release and was told that distributors/manufacturers really unhappy at low prices on release day. Said they would not be allowed to stock if they forced price down this year!! Don't know how true this is but it doesn't make much sense to me as surely they have to pay the full cost to distributors/manufacturers?
#15
poor deals but i voted hot for the op's benefit.
the only one worth it imo is the hmv one, unless you shop in sainsburys!

so i dont see why the manufacturers would be unhappy if they still get paid, more people online, more people to buy extra content :) i do see your point though :D

This is what I did: From Game I got Call of Duty: Black Ops with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Which is £64.98, then I used the £6 code to bring it to £58.98. Used my game reward card to get me £1.63 credit on my card. Then when it does arrive Stars Wars will go to CeX, get myself £30 cash for that. So total I am paying is £27.35 total for Black Ops. But off course this will be high risk as CeX can drop the cash value for Star Wars anytime.

theres only one gd deal imo and thjats the hmv one, rest are pretty poor if u ask me, as suckers ppl into buying add ons, ie shopping, games etc

you shouldnt have to fall for the buy something to get a discount, a total scam imo
#19
Disappointed due to all the bugs and glitches in NV I might be tempted to trade this in. (_;)

Will wait a few weeks to see if the price drops.
#20
not so good deals this year but to me seems that Tesco have the best one this year.

Asda has the best stand alone price though.

but surely there would be more games sold at the lower prices. some people might hold back buying the game at full price considering the flood of good games on the market recently. i know im considering leaving it as assassins creed due out next week. maybe ask santa for this instead.

Rubbish deals this year, but thanks for the post, saves having to trawl through the newspaper! Decision time now on the best options! :D Added for your time, thanks

Best offer for me is the tesco one if you have your clubcard vouchers ;-) think its crap no Tesco's opening by me though

Not the best deals so I guess it's down to Sainsburys for a bit of Christmas shopping aswell!
#27
Hey does anyone know if any of these prices (specifically Asda) might change in the next 13 or so hours? Is it even possible? Ta
#28
I just ordered from tesco, it may be delivered on Wed but I have lectures all day tomorrow anyway so I won;t have the time.

The ops post is not clear?? Do you have to buy all three items. I think "or" should be included.

What do you mean about clubcard vouchers??? Are they doubling up at the moment??
#30
Im guessing by pre ordering in store at tesco, that i can still get the game + the points with the £5 off ive already paid for preordering? or do i only get the game only for already preordering? either way got staff discount to come off so wont be too bad. Whats the price of the point on thier own?
#31
Terrible deals this year, Ive got about 5000 M$ points in a box at home from when Ive got games cheap with them.

Looks like Ill use my trade in cash on my GameStation card to get it for nearly free at midnight
#32
I preordered the ASDA one and get the free shirt (which I will sell on) so am happy with their price.
#33
New 360 user here, what are the microsoft points used for?
#34
Tesco has the best deal, as the microsoft points keep the resell value if you dont need them.

I used them for halo deal last month, went via quidco and voucher code as well so payed about £25 intotal

you can buy games, game content etc from live market place

I was quite up for buying this but the price has now put me off . I feel i still have life in mw2 so will continue with that or maybe buy Bad Company 2 as it is quite cheap preowned. disappointed that no company has really pushed the boat out this year though.

Are you the same Rastie on my friends list? BC2 player? :)
That's what I've done - paid the £5 pre-order which gets deducted from whatever total you finally pay, with or without points/3 months live. I'd expect my pre-order to guarantee me a game but it'll be down to luck whether the points are in store.

But I hear that those extras have been jacked up, i.e. the points are usually £16.71 and are now £17.50. Still, if points are often around £15, that balances out at looking at it as if paying £27.50 for the game, which makes me glad I've gone the Tesco instore route!

The Sainsburys one is perfect for me, 2 minutes from the store, always shop there and my other half is working until midnight on the tills tonight so I'll get my copy! ;)
