what game will you get and why?

I feel they are arguing both good looking games.

Already got Fifa 2009, It's a good improvement overall.

Never been a fan of PES to be honest, I like realism, PES is too "Arcady" Good to play against friends but I haven't got many.

i'll only get fifa when they let you edit/register players, teams and if they get rid of andy gray,
PES has always had alot more free flowing football in the past, it does look now though FIFA has caught up..

No contest, pes all the way.

If you like to play with a beachball that you cannot kick and put power into it or it goes miles over then fifa is your game. If you like to play a game where ronaldinho is white then fifa is your game. Must i go on?

Dude, need some advice, I have a non modded liteon 360 purely for live use( got it cheap) and have a modded benq falcon for all other downloads or copies, I did it this way as there is only a few games that I will use on live which I am happy to buy and didn't want to banned, the money saved from having one modded easily covers the seperate system anc few online games cost.

I suppose my question is should I really worry bout getting banned? Seems like it's happening a lot less, appart from using a benq key on a hitatch or similar or is that just scaremongering ?

Do u use a modded one on live? Ever been banned?

I was a pro evo fan until they brought out 2008 and it was an absolute joke the biggest pile of dog poo i have ever played where as fifa have raised the bar and if the game is as good as the demo pro evo will fail again!!!

i was going to create a post with the exact question , pes or fifa ?

    i'm undecided.

I want to play online, Pes is truly awful compared to fifa when it comes to online, but i prefer the gameplay on pes.

I have played both demos. Pes hasnt really changed compared to last year.

didnt have fifa 08 so cant compare that

If you want a football simulation with great online play then FIFA is the game to go for, if however you want a Wii style arcadey football game PES is for you.

    Agree with ^^^^^^^^^^^^

I downloaded the PES demo last night and it is far too arcadey.

PES would have been my main choice until last year when I decided to try Fifa instead. And going by what I have seen from this seasons PES demo it looks as though I will be playing Fifa this year also.

I have always preffered PES over the fifa series.

Last years PES was brutal online.

I downloaded and tried both demos, and it pains me to say this but fifa was miles better ( I picked that up today for £29.71 from tesco), the sound when you kicked the ball in PES sounded like someone opening a rusty tin of paint in an empty hall, also the manual passing is done on the right analogue stick, this was very strange, the AI in the keepers is awfuly. I really hope that konami come up with something special for next year.

Agree with the kicking sound. The noise when you kick the ball is very strange.

pes 2008(360) isnt as bad as everyone makes out, apart from some of the framerate issues in the replays

FIFA 09 better this year, PES demo is garbage. But either way, neither are as good as the old Pro Evo 5, thats still the daddy!

Au contraire, I've always found Fifa more like basketball - a bit random with ther ball moving end-to-end quickly.

I love how all Pes's ebb and flow realistically, some games are turgid - some are great. I can play really well at times and lose just by misfortune or bad luck - or conversely steal a win from out of nowhere. It's a great feeling of depth that I (and many others) get from Pes.

I have got the new Fifa09, but once Pes09 gets here - Fifa will probably get flogged to a mate:)

This is what defines pro for me. I tried doing seasons on fifa but found that once you found a grove, you'd win games with just the same moves over and over. Whereas in pro you could win one game comfortably, but the next one you nick in the 89th minute with a scrappy goal. In that respect it does feel more 'real', when one pass could make or break a game.

    Roll on the 17th.

Have bought every PES game since ISS for the Super Nintendo. This might be the first year I give it a miss in over 10 years.

IMO, the series has nose dived since it hit the next gen consoles.

PES 5 was the daddy of them all which I still play with updated option files to this day.
