    it's a scam - they've ripped off camerabox.co.uk which is a genuine site
  4. deleted275293's avatar
they use almost the same website layout as camerabox
i think they operated the same way as DIGITAL WAY
ask 17.5% fee when you use a creditcard and no charge when you use an international bank transfer
so i lost 899.90 euro and no canon 550d with 2 acc.(digital way)

    Scam site for sure

For a laugh I emailed asking if I could collect from their store, their reply:

    "Dear Customer

We don't have the shop only office.
Unfortunately we not able to sell goods from the office.

    Hey guys,

I have just informed godaddy.com about the site. They will be tearing it down shortly. It is a CONFIRMED scam site. Front to steal credit card details and make a quick buck. If you want it to go down faster please email about this scam site to abuse@godaddy.com.

Hope this helps. Sorry to hear about those who make a honest living and get scammed by scums.

I have also informed tradingstandards.gov.uk. They have started a criminal investigation with the trading council in uk. PS. Companies house informed me that their company number is also fake. Please don't do bank transfers to any company as its impossible to retrieve the funds. Your better off taking risks with credit cards in the future as there is protection.

    Cheers

sorry to hear that. have done all I could so no one else falls for them. I was able to reach them two weeks ago to find out more about the company. But now it seems they are not picking up any calls! Thank god I waited to order something, now its all clear.

As I said Eugene, nearly impossible to get it back if you did the transfer yourself, for UK account its possible to reverse the payment if you have a Business account.

If someone has transferred money to them, please post their bank account number and the bank name here. I may have a way to inform the bank as I am in UK that is if the account was in UK.

  22. deleted275674's avatar
    hey guys,

I have a business account with Natwest and I am going to give my bank manager a call to find out who it is and try to track them down and kill the account and possible get an investigation under the person's name so that he can't open any account in GB. Just watch. I haven't lost any money but some how I feel the need to get them as I was so close to ordering.

    keep you guys updated.

Same story here...tried to order via Creditcard but their system refused mine...

After asking which CCs they do accept I got the (very dodgy) reply that below made me suspicious....

Can't believe this site is still online....

I actually do wounder if they hack our credit card details this way as well if you try to pay with it...
basically their system has all the info one would need to abuse our CCs.

    Dear Customer

We see that you tried to make a purchase via Credit card.
Please provide for us following details:
Name, Surname, Full address, Card expiry date, CVV 3 last digits of you card, Verified by Visa password if you are registered.
Once we receive these details we will charge our from our office using different system.
You will receive you order in 3 working days

You'd be crazy to hand over any details to a merchant who asks for your verified by visa password.

    Thanks for the info.

    hey guys,

unfortunately I made the same mistake as many before me. I placed an order for a cheap lens. I have transfered any many so far though. What do you recommend I should do ?
Should just wait and see what happens and hope that the scam site gets shut down soon?
    thanks in advance!

They are an absolute fraud. I emailed CameraBox (the legitimate company in London) and asked them if KV-Cameras is a division of theirs. Here was their reply:

No, we are in no way affiliated with KV cameras. This is a fraud company that has mimicked our web design.

Also from me MANY THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION ! Your warnings saved me a lot of money and I hope, theese guys will be catched.
  31. deleted281415's avatar
Contact your bank for any card number/ccv code combo that you put in there, have them cancel the card and issue you a new one. this guys is selling the info that he/they get from this scam site.

Please someone, try to get this site cut off by their ISP, i have already filed a complaint with the IC3, so they are aware of it, but no movement yet.

also, post the info about the site in as many places as possible.
  32. deleted288525's avatar
I too have been taken by these ****. I ordered a Tokina lens by international transfer. I have exchanged emails 5-6 times each with a response from someone with fairly broken english. This is a real bummer. I called my bank and they can do nothing for a transfer except put a request in for a "return" of funds. This is a total shame. I am disgusted.
  33. deleted288859's avatar
Glad I looked them up!!! After seeing what you all have posted I went back to the site for a look-a-round and noticed how the credit card logos in the lower corner are not legitimate logos currently being used by those companies.....Dead give-a-way. How many people would really pay attention to that though??
  34. deleted281415's avatar
@samanthad - good catch. also notice that if you start shopping and/or go to checkout, it's not secure (https) but rather just an open port 80 connection. dead giveaway. it's not possible to do CC authorization without a secure connection.

is there something else we can do to shut them down?

Seems strange that a website whose sole purpose is to rip people off would suddenly have stock to send out.

Wow, I'm so glad I checked. I was about to place an order for Canon 24-70mm, which is $300 cheaper on their site. Like many have said, it's too good to be true. I first noticed that on their home page, they have this similar ad as Camerabox that says "The Professional's Choise." They copied the add from Camerabox, but misspelled "choice". Those dumb-ass frauds.

    Don't buy from them!
