I want to buy an electric coolbox from argos, but it only comes with an ac (car cigarette lighter adapter). Can I buy something to change this so that I can may it work off of a normal plug? Thanks

Well the reviews on the Argos one aren't that good tbh.

I bought an adapter from Maplins last summer to plug the kids DVD player from the car into when indoors. Its abit noisy but works great cost about £15 I think.

Argos say 12v 5A so it'll be damned expensive to get a PSU.

The cheapest way to do it, if you know somebody with some basic electrical knowledge, is to get an old PC PSU of say 350w and wire a cigarette socket onto that. Should give you at least 10A at 12v. A bit bulky etc but cheap

Haha was just going to say use an old atx power supply and solder a cigarette socket onto the 12v line.

I do it all the time. They make excellent bench supplies at a fraction of the cost. Only mod needed is to connect the green ATX wire to a black and it's good to go
