Question about Next Returns/Exchanges

This may be a rather silly question but i received a delivery i ordered online and its not suitable, i can return this to store for an exchange cant i?? I mean it says on the advice slip and online you can return it for a refund to your credit account, but nothing about exchanges?

Apoligies if this is a daft question, but i wanted to be sure before i make the journey to my local store

TIA for any replies x

If I want to exchange something I've ordered from the catalogue then I tend to deny that's where it came from. Sometimes the staff insist that you send it back to the catalogue as they have completely different warehouses, and then buy from them, but if you just say that you received it as a present but it doesn't fit so you want to swop it, then they'll swop it without batting an eyelid.

Done it loads of times but perhaps it's worth checking beforehand that the store you're visiting has the item size in that you need before trekking in if the branch isn't local, just find their number on the website and give them a ring, they might even hold onto it for you.

Don't say this as they'll ask you for your receipt, say it was a present because then you wouldn't have a receipt but make sure you tear off the price part on the tag.

Im an ex employee and just to let you know that staff can identify stock as directory rather than in store bought item. You should also know that audits do take place on Directory accounts as customers shopping habits do leave an audit trail.

If your a Directory Card Account holder then the simplist thing to do is return your item to store, it'll be processed as a directory return (that item is returned to the directory on your behalf, it doesn't go back into the stores stock) and then purchase or order the new item in store, paid for using your directory card, which charges this to your directory catalogue account.

Effectively your not doing an exchange. Next Directory & Next Stores are different business's and therefore they have their own financial accounts which do not cross over between individual businesses. That is why Stores are not able to "exchange directory items for store stock" and visa-versa.

If you have a Directory Catalogue Account but not a Directory Card on that account then contact the Directory customers services & apply for the Directory Card.

if you order via a store which has regular deliveries then you'll get it usually within 48hrs. The key thing is to ask how often they get deliveries before you place an order. A small branch which only gets 3 delieverys per week means you'll have a further delay.
