Hey...just had an alarm installed from AMCO today. Took them 3 hours to install and test it, I went for a wireless one. Very neatly done, easy to setup and use, works (from my initial tests) so far and I'm impressed! Give me a few months and I'll give more feedback

this thread is a bit suspicious.
Many comments are the 1st posts sent by the users with no other activities. last activities also coincide with the date of the posts. Not saying it's all fake, but I won't trust what i m reading here base on the stats.

These so called monitored alarm experts conveniently forgot to mention that if the telephone line the alarm is connected to is in use (as it was one evening when we tried to test the alarm with the help of one of their call centre staff) and the alarm activates then the alarm does not work at all, and it still does not work if we have a backup sim card as the phoneline is "still active". Needless to say that combined with the fact there seem to be no "real" reviews and open offers to view a customer database containing extremely sensitive information has led me and my husband elsewhere. Overall a very unsafe system, would not recommend.

I am not impressed with the proposition they have here - no ringing outside alarm to alert the neighbourhood only a recorded voice (inside) saying "we know you are in here, please leave or else we shall call the police" .. everyone knows it takes the Police ages to get to you (if at all) and that burglars only need 2 mins to steal key things, they won't give a darn for the voice! I don't believe their marketing or stats, sorry. This is very pricey for what it is and the ongoing monthly (monitoring) fees are exorbitant for the luxury of having the voice speaking to the burglar. A relative has a system with them and it is a complete load of rubbish, in my honest view, her alarm went off twice and each time they tried to call her and then next of kin, all took half an hour then I ended up going over (i.e. no police called!). I was amazed by all this, You can set up the same for a fraction yourself, wirelessly (Yale system) and their monitoring is a joke, it has zero effect form my own experience. Also, if you call them out for anything or upgrades they charge a huge amount call out and then the dreaded half hourly rate cuts in, and we all know what can happen there, stinging fees add up. Not for me at all.

Why do they only have 45 reviews on trustpilot?

Hey M - just Google them and you'll see a bunch of views all of which look pretty positive.

Thanks Sock Man, from looking at all the reviews around the Alarm Monitoring Company they all look really good. It's really difficult trying to make your mind up about something you know nothing about, so getting the reassurance of other's reviews of alarm systems they've had installed is pretty useful and time saving. So thank you again for the tip, think I'm gonna to take the plunge and buy an AMCO alarm ;-)

It would great to hear your experience of them - I am thinking about using them as well

Yeah I have just been looking too, but unsure if the online reviews are people working for the company!
Seem cheap comparing to adt, cheaper setup and over a tender a month less monitoring...any reviews ?

Just moved from the US and also thought this company sounded too good to be true. No bad reviews.. I'm going to call them Monday and ask a few questions. I'll keep you guys updated. If all goes well, maybe have them come and install.
They say they keep the prices down and it hasn't really changed for over 10 years. Let's SEE!

Yeah, salesman weren't pushy with me either. I've now had an AMCO alarm for a month or so and my experience has been good so far.

    Hello

I had an alarm with these before which they fitted to my British gas alarm which was a ring back type. I got staff discount at BG as well and it was rubbish when they phoned you to check if you were a burglar. Anyway I moved house and have had there own device fitted today. The installers were a little a slow but they did a good job and made good any holes. If anything they went on and on about which route to take and it got on my nerves! but anyway the last system worked fine and I assume this one will work fine. They are not pushy at all if they were they would have seen the door. Ive little patience with pressure sales.

    Mr and Mrs Omar:
We got our AMCO Alarm Monitoring System installed on the 04th December 2013. We can confidently say that we have chosen one of the best alarm monitoring systems available in the market. The whole work right from the initial discussions to the actual work and then the post installation service, all were of high professional standards. We would highly recommend their systems to all households who are planning to get their properties alarmed. Their system works in such a way that the chance of a false alarm is almost completely minimised as according to the law, if police is called to three false alarms at a property in one year, then they will not attend the fourth call-out in that year on that property. We would give them five stars on all counts. Excellent throughout.

We made two visit to this "lady" to install an alarm system that she had ordered - For the first visit our Engineer arrived on site at the appointed time of 09.00 Hrs to find no one at the shop! He waited around and eventually contacted this "lady" who announced that she did not open until 11.00 Hrs despite a prior agreement and the contract clearly stating that installation would commence at 09.00 Hrs. However, on the basis that we believe that the customer is always right (until they prove that they are complete scoundrels !) we agreed to return at 09.00 Hrs on another day.

We dutifully returned on that date. In accordance with our procedures the Engineer checked the details of the installation and layout with the customer. This "lady" then declared that she did not wish to pay the VAT or for the costs of parking & for the additional items listed in her contract. This amounted to her wanting a discount of over £150. This was not acceptable since we work on very tight margins both on installation and monitoring in order to give our customers best value. We are not prepared to work for a loss! Since she was not prepared to honour her contract we had no choice but to refuse to install her system and withdraw and reschedule our Engineer.

This "lady" is obviously a scoundrel used to getting her own way through deceit and bullying. She is somewhat miffed when someone stands up for what is right.

With regard to her "friend" leaving us after 1 year this is a pure lie - Action should be taken by the publisher to withdraw this statement since it is libellous.

Mr Kingcedz - we certainly don't write our own reviews - but we do monitor them and comment when necessary. Look at other review sites!
We also monitor all our installations by questioning the client after the event. On the last 200 installs our average score out of 10 was 9.25 with our lowest 5.6 and just 13 scores below 8. Naturally we investigated why an engineer whose average rating is 9.36 and has never got below 8 should get one bad score of 5.6?
We ask customers to rate us under 8 different headings including initial enquiry handling, engineer on time, tidy worker, quality of job, cleaning up on completion, training and follow up. We are human and have been known to make a mistake - but in that very very rare event we put it write immediately. If you don't believe us you are welcome to visit us and have a look at our "customer after sales review" database!

    Hi AMCO1

I am planning to switch providers so would welcome the opportunity to see the database for myself. My previous provider has really bad reviews but I did ignore this so being a bit cautious this time round.

Hi - Sorry for the delay in replying - please telephone 01347 822111 and we will arrange for you to view the database in one of our offices

Of course there all written by their staff anyone in their right mind can see this

Mr "haritori" we are very professional - I just happen to suffer fools very badly.

I am also well aware of customer confidentiality and data protection.

When allowing persons to view our "customer reviews database" in our secure offices, we would obviously not be allowing anyone to view individual customer's confidential details. The reviewer would see just an ID number, customer's individual scores and a summary - I guess you and your colleagues would accuse us of forging such records since you seem to believe we spend all our time writing our own reviews?

Unlike people like you, we do not hide our name. we are extremely open with our comments. You know who we are, so why don't you behave professionally, come out from behind your screen and let the world know who and what you are?

    AMCO best I ever used.

We got our AMCO Alarm Monitoring System installed on the 17th May 2014. The work was of high professional standards. We would highly recommend their systems to all households & businesses who are planning to get their properties alarmed. Staff are very professional, polite and even not once have we had a false alarm.

We now feel really safe with AMCO, also got elderly relative one and now she fears no more, thank god we did because she was almost attacked in her home but thanks to AMCO they are now in a Police cell & she now feels safer then ever

    Hi,

Can someone tell me who should I buy an alarm from ? I had ADT here and he gave me a quote which was high, when I said I wanted to get 2 other quotes just to compare, but said Id probably go with ADT as I have heard of them, he magically managed to get the quote from £1500 to £1,100 ? even the monitoring around £36 a month came down. I hate salesmen like this and when ever they do that, I just show them the door. give e the best price you can do when you first tell me. If I never mentioned getting an alternative quote he would have charged me £3/400 more than he could sell it to me.

I spoke to AMCO on the fone and they didn't seem pushy, I just want a system that will call me and the police asap....

Anyone know of a company near Bromley in kent who is reliable ? Im more worried that if someone targeted an house to burgle - they would cut the phone and internet line from outside , what does that do to a burglar alarm ?

We've had an AMCO alarm installed for a while now and had no issues with the service. As you said, the sales guy wasn't pushy, just talked through what we needed over the phone then sent out a quote via email. The setup costs were reasonable (the monitoring cost we pay is about half of what you mention), and also they have this voice box on their alarm that speaks to anyone in the house if the alarm is triggered, so we decided to go ahead. The engineer came out and discussed with us what he was going to do and made recommendations for any alterations before installing the same day. We were offered a mobile phone system to take over the monitoring if the telephone line is cut but decided against it since our telephone line is out of reach. I think you can also get monitoring through the mobile phone only rather than telephone line if you want. From what I have been told, they are nationwide.”

I have had an Amco fully monitored alarm system in my house for about 4 years now. No problems with it at all and is still working just as it did back then. It tells you on the keypad when the alarm batteries are low and if the electric is cut the company alert you just to check its nothing else. Have a smoke alarm fitted too and every month when i test the battery on it, i count how many seconds before the voice sounds checking all is well. I don't work for the company but would definitely recommend them. Also, the team at amco will give you support via the phone and talk you through any problems or alerts etc on the keypad

I am considering using this company for my home alarm system and after a good phone interaction I have received an email quote. However this thread is very concerning as most posts are extremely suspicious and this is really putting me off. The positive comments seem to blatanlty just repeat the key messages from their website and are way to detailed (like they work for the company). Not sure what is going on. Are there genuine users out there with feedback? And no I do t want to hear from AMCO. Thanks in advance.
