Simply Electronics - A Warning !!!

I recently ordered a digital camera from the above company, as having done quite a bit of searching, they came out the cheapest. Well after waiting 3 weeks for a 2-8 day despatch, I cancelled it and was assured of a refund within 7 days, 6 weeks later I'm still fighting for it, and am sending all the details to my solicitor. Be warned, never ever use this cowboy outfit, they make all the right noises but do not deliver - literally !!
p.s. Ordered same camera on Amazon and got it next day !!!!

    The phone I ordered is now 25 euro cheaper then it was when I ordered, but they don't wanna pay. It is still not send, think I ask to cancel by paypal tomorrow... Still would love a new phone, but can wait a bit extra with the xperia V around the corner.

    I ordered an iPad from Simply Electronics one week ago. I know I haven't given them the time as yet, to deliver (I expect it within the next week, having been told it will be despatched and delivered within eight days) but I haven't been satisfied with their service. They took the money via Credit Card the same day as ordering, which was confirmed by Moneybookers and then the following day, I was asked to provide utility bills of one sort or another to prevent fraud - that's a joke! I've never known a company to ask for such details only in the "banking" industry. And as far as trying to contact them via phone, well! I was told it would be 50 mins and could phone back after the allotted time when my number would be recognised and I would still hold my place in the queue. On doing so, I was told that it was now 40 mins! I didn't bother and I'm glad I didn't use their premium 844 number. The service was supposed to be improved and that was three years ago!! I'm thinking of cancelling and paying more for the ipad where you can at least get some info on "your Account."

    Got my money back form paypal, without much trouble. Still no new phone. Maybe wait for the xperia t or v, may buy one in asia when on vacation in a couple of months.

    I cant believe these people are allowed to be up and running. I just wish I'd read the comment of the OP before being naive enough to buy something from them. I'm not 'into' forums but am joining as many as I can in a determination to get these scammers closed down. I ordered an ipad and paid for it in April 2012. They were so quick to cash my order before asking for personal details which of course made even naive me decide to phone the carriage comapmy who advised to refuse delivery of the item. Both they and Trading Standards are involved and even the couriers were confused as to how they are using multiple carriers to get their products into the country (although they pretend to be UK based!) I was told my money had been paid into my bank on July 30th 2012 months after they had received back the ipad that had never got so far as me! Apparatly they had problems with their systems-(ah, bless, poor things) and they 'dont keep customers account details' (no, they just atempt identity fraud instead!!!) Fortunatley I paid by credit card which is unusual for me but because of this they have refunded me themselves and are confident of getting money back from them via disputes which I am fortunate I dont have to be involved in. DONT TOUCH THESE CROOKS WITH A BARGEPOLE

    Ignore any good reviews you see and look at the number of bad ones before you order anything from this company; the volume of these should say something, unfortunately I didn't find this site before I ordered.

    They took an order for stock they didn't have and didn't send me any e-mails. I had to ring twice to check the situation and was fed contradictory information between and within the two calls all of which meant I still have no goods or a refund.

    They are happy to take your money, but not to pay it back - even if their current 'promises' still hold it take 4 times to make a refund than to charge the account in the first place.

    They are amateurs, their service is dreadful and they seemed very keen to get off the phone when I started pointing out the discrepancies in their statements and approach.

    DON'T GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM.

    I cant believe this company have not been closed down. I wanted to order a Asus Transformer Infinity Tablet and looked at the best prices on Ebay. Some great prices but all were based overseas and I wanted one from the UK for faster delivery.

    Quick web search and there is Simply Electronics, nice clean website, uk telephone number, prices in sterling. More expensive than ebay but great, item ordered.

    11 days later and still no item, its not even shown as despatched despite being listed as in stock. 10 minutes spent reviewing the internet (something I should have done before ordering from a new company) and it appears this company are adverse to sending items that have been ordered, or issuing refunds, or answering a telephone.

    Ring the customer 'services' and I was informed the wait time was 1hr 14 minutes but I could hang up and my place would still be held in the queue, ring back an hour later, still 1hr 4 minute wait. Eventually after about 5 hours I get a different message and assume im next in line, after a lengthy hold still no answer.

    E-mail sent, get a reply in a day or so saying they have problems delivering items, maybe im just picky but being able to deliver items is pretty crucial for a mail order complany based the other side of the globe (Hong Kong).

    Now im in the position of wanting to cancel an order but not daring to as the internet suggests they are as bad at refunding money as they are at shipping out items.

    Is this a deliberate con or are they just incompetent, I dont know. All I do know is im £400 out of pocket with nothing to show for it.

    My lifes aim is now to let everyone who will listen know just how bad this company is so that others do not suffer. 'Dont buy from simply electronics' website coming soon so that others can post their experiences of this company all in one place.

    Good idea for a 'Don't buy from Simply Electronics' website. I am still waiting for my refund. Have been told that a representative has been 'assigned' to me and will deal with my problem. I have written down a lot of the websites so gratefully given from EOS1D and will see how much I can learn or get satisfaction from them. I think the online fraud police should definately be informed. Especially when a company asks for ID verification from utility bills, passport or driving licence when they've already got the money!

    I ordered a smartphone for my daughter and waited almost 3 weeks for it, but didn't received it. Then I asked for refund, and even 10 days later there was no moneyback. During communication with managers, I was fed with promises without any concrete terms and dates. Finally, I initiated a dispute in PayPal and hopefully money was refunded the next day.
    Never buy anything there even if it's cheap. A miser pays twice, you know. Such behavior is unacceptable nowadays, and such online stores must die ASAP.

    Hi Vanessa or who is behind the signature, 21/2 years ago we exchanged emails, in fact I have emails from 10 different customer service executives, none of whom were ever that helpful.

    You either run or are part of a very disgraceful internet company who prey on people looking for a "deal" in fact most of the time you lie about having stock as many have testified over the years in fact since 2008. Thats at least 41/2 years of the same COMPLAINTS.

    Dont come on to forums who are trying to help poorly treated customers with this kind of pathetic attitude that you are there to offer ALL your assistance. Fact is your company is SLOW very very SLOW to learn and appreciate there is only so much we the customer will stand for.

    WE WILL KEEP COMPLAINING UNTIL YOU EITHER STOP YOUR BAD PRACTICES OR ARE SHUT DOWN

    Credible companies do not need to hire a "Vanessa" to prowl around review forums offering so called "assistance" to Simply Electronics victims like myself who lost £570 in minutes but waited almost 8 weeks for a refund.

    Simply Electronics DO NOT readily assist, as my numerous e mails to them can prove. Took many complaints to many places before a refund happened, yet "Vanessa" makes it look so simple! Awh well, at least keeps her in a job I suppose!

    Absolute dreadful service. I ended up cancelling my order for an ipad2 aft 7 weeks of waiting - despit he wsite sating 4-5 days. The phone line takes 40mins to get through. Avoid at all costs!

    I used simply electronics for new iPad via trusted reviews price comparison site. TOTAL RIP OFF MERCHANTS. Finally got refund from barclays chargeback on debit card. BE WARNED! DO NOT USE!!!!!!

    So after a month or so of SE behaving themselves they are still operating in a very dodgy and unacceptable way. Please read back through the posts and find email addresses to complain to. On Amazon they have also been absent for a long while and then suddenly someone posts who is a regular customer of Amazon that she has had money taken from her account by SE without any order or invoice!! DO NOT TRUST SIMPLY ELECTRONICS, they lie cheat steel con mislead sell counterfiet goods have been warned by Hong Kong Police, UK Trading standards, Google checkout, Ebay and many others and YET are still allowed to trade openly on the internet. Keep complaining will be the only way to stop them and protect innocent customers from being ripped off.

    I ordered two items from this company and due to many orders that day for xmas did not do my usual reviews on simplyelectronics and was shocked to the core when after placed the order read the terrible onslaught of bad reviews on many sites online,I felt really stupid for not checking site out before ordering but it was too late as money had left my account,I decided after reading majority of issues surrounded people trying to cancel order to just sit it out and pray I would receive my childrens ipad 3 and turtle beach xbox headset in the two week time slot allocated,After a very anxious two weeks I did get despatch email and tracking number from DHL and much to my relief the orders were delivered yesterday.I just thought would post this in case anyone else out there did same as myself and is unsure whether to cancel,it does seem to take longer to arrive as based in hong kong but I can say they did deliver in the two weeks and items are perfect with no chinese language on ipad as had read could be issue,everything in English,all boxes sealed and in original packaging.Maybe I was just very lucky but they have done everything as promised.I just hope all these poor unsuspecting people get their money back or do receive order like I have as it was bad enough worrying for two weeks but much worse to be in situation many are,hope this helps any other anxious customer,simplyelectronics do sometimes do as they say.
