Simply Electronics - A Warning !!!

I recently ordered a digital camera from the above company, as having done quite a bit of searching, they came out the cheapest. Well after waiting 3 weeks for a 2-8 day despatch, I cancelled it and was assured of a refund within 7 days, 6 weeks later I'm still fighting for it, and am sending all the details to my solicitor. Be warned, never ever use this cowboy outfit, they make all the right noises but do not deliver - literally !!
p.s. Ordered same camera on Amazon and got it next day !!!!

I ordered a camera which Simply Electronics said they had in stock and after 5 days tried to contact them to see why my order status had not changed and I had not received a confirmation email. I never received a reply to any email so tried ringing it took days and hours to reach them by phone when I spoke to a foreign lady who could hardly speak English. She told me she would arrange refund within two hours. She did not of course and two weeks later and several emails from customer services confirming my credit is being processed I still have not had my credit. As far as I can see this company are absolutely useless extremely poor service even my credit card company were aware of them SO BEWARE DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Cheaper is not better.

Thank you nbat 3.
Same pblm, delay in delivery, cancelled order, after 2 months nothing and now they are telling me having issues doing the refund so contact your card issuer.
What is a charge back? Do i need to tell my bank and they will be able to do something about it?
Please help me get my money back please.
Thanks
dianeandchipps#443
Hi, I got the same message from them, I think they do this to gain interest in their bank account - they must make a small fortune just holding onto peoples money.
I don't know what charge back is sorry but when I contacted my bank they put me through to the dispute department. I was told that I will have my refund in between 5 and 10 days.
Time is not up yet but I am more hopeful that I will see my money very soon.
I think you should contact your bank straight away.
Good luck.

Response I got today after many emails for refund since Mid June 2012

You should have received your refund by now. I have sent an urgent request to our relevant department to find out what is the cause of the delay.

We appreciate the urgency and do assure you we are treating this matter very seriously. We will send you a refund confirmation as soon as possible. I will do my part to ensure minimal delays moving forward in processing your refund.

Once again, I would like to extend our sincere apologies for not meeting your service expectations.

Best Regards,

Report them here too: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-a-fraud-including-online-crime

They are fraudulently as well as frequently taking orders for goods they do not stock. Which is plain and simple fraud by anyone's standards. They are also breaching contracts with almost every order (if not all) they take.

I have also emailed http://www.moneybookers.com who processed my payment to them. I informed them of http://www.**** fraudulent trading and asked them to make a charge back to SE. They have emailed me back and are working on the refund. So fingers crossed.

I have shopped online extensively for many years and without doubt http://www.**** is being the worst experience that I have ever encountered. A swift, fatally destructive virus uploaded to their site is needed I think, can anyone here oblige?

We placed an order for an Asus Tablet at a good price of around £380.00 on 4th July 2012.
Decided to cancel within 24 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. E-mailed Simply Electronics requesting the return of money.
Received replying email within 24 hours.
To cut a long story short, I did think that we were probably going to lose our money.
However, Simply Electronics kept us posted about time schedules their side and likely time of refund.
On the 16th July we received notification that refund was about to be effected and money was finally in our bank on the 18th. July 2012.
They were true to their word!
I cannot really complain about the service and I would consider placing another order at a later date, although if the difference was up to £50.00 then I'd buy from Amazon or a UK based company.

Maybe you have benefitted from all the hard work many others have had to go through? My case was not so easy

I have today contacted the following people with regard to my experience with Simply Electronics I had £2200 taken from my account within seconds of purchasing a Canon 1D mkiii. I was informed by SE I would have to 'proove' who I was and where I lived even though I used Visa and had to go through their own security confirmation. I was advised by my bank I SHOULD NOT send any copies regarding Passport, driving licence or utility bills as requested by SE. I cancelled my order and informed my debit card holder who told me they would get my funds back if SE took longer than 28days to refund me which is UK law. When I recieve responses I will post them here for all to see.

Hi
**************DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE http://www.****/ (Known as simplyelectronics) all they do is take your money and you never see the goods I recently ordered a phone for £439 have sent numerous e-mail, but no reply, tonight I said that I would see legal action, they sent and automated message I have 6 automated messages all saying the same someone will ring back, when I tried to ring they said there is a waiting time of 1 hour their phone number 0844 499 0616, this started ringing bells - complaints. Under google I put the company name and it came out with this forum with lots of complaints of non delivery. There website looks good, but I found when I wanted to copy and paste something from it, it would not let me do it, also when ypu into the FAQ pages you just go round in circules, it says you can check your status, when you click on it you are back to the beginning. I ordered the item on the 30 July 2012 as item was in stock delivery quoted 3-4 days (No wonder delivery was FREE it was because you would not get your oroduct). They have taken this amount from my account on the 1 August 2012, I have stopped my card, and have informed the fraud department. When I did a little more research they are a company based in china!!!
BUYER BEWARE DO NOT USE SIMPLY ELECTRONICS TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS.

For anyone struggling with refunds etc, remeber you can do a chargeback through your bank, now this isnt just for Credit Cards, But Debit Cards too, as long as the card is a VISA you shoudl have no problems, ie: Visa Debit, VIsa Electron are all fine to intiate a chargeback and you will have an instant refund.

Hi I have just read your e-mail I ordered a phone from these cons - on the 30 July 2012 and noticed that they have taken £439.95 from mu account on the 1 August 2012 but of course no goods, various emails sent all you get is a automated reply I got six exactly the same, what do you mean by a charge back I used my visa debit card.

Thanks Anna

SE are SLOW they are POOR they sell 'GREY' goods they send 'DAMAGED' goods, they 'DELAY', they send email after email BUT after enough complaints they do 'REFUND' So start complaining through emails so it does not 'COST' you more money and take the fight to them. Here is a few places to start. DO NOT be put off by them or use of Debit cards etc get your bank involved or the company dealing with your card and write to everyone here copy and paste the same letter but take action is only way to get 'REFUNDS'

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone to simply electronics and their customer service told me nothing is leaving their warehouse and not to order anything else from them.

VERY SUSPICIOUS TO ME!

I ordered for a tablet for a birthday present so this is very disappointing for me.

Can anyone offer any help?
