[WARNING] Living Social HMV Vouchers

Morning All,

Just a quick update to people who have bought this offer and been lucky enough to get uptake to qualify for “Free” vouchers (by forwarding to 3 friends etc).

But over the holidays I checked my statements and found I had been charged for both lots of my vouchers.

Having rung them, they confirm how many referrals you’ve made – and confirm it ‘should’ have been free.

They were apologetic and agreed to process the refund – taking 1-3 business days – and that was on the 20th of December.

Having called again this morning, they have confirmed their system says “Paid” – and also that the card matches my details which it does, but the money still is yet to appear in my account.

So please be careful on this, check your statements – and if you find yourself in the same position – call them and get it chased (freephone) 0800 014 8431

I smell a complaint letter for making me £20 out of pocket over such an important period where cash is a premium Lol.

    I got a bit worried there seeing the title as I thought they had gone under, cheers for the reminder though, really need to get it spent sooner rather than later.

    My refund (processed on the 20th of December) has just appeared on my online bank statement – dated 2nd of January.

    I got charged £10 for a voucher that was supposed to be free and £5 for a voucher I didn't get. I phoned them and they were an absolute mess to talk to two people told me two different things, and the bank confirmed that was the first one told me was not true.

    I've had HUGE problems with HMV. Everything is out of stock! Then when I found a DVD I liked, they sent me a UMD. Cant get it returned either and they stopped replying to emails and twitter comments.

    I've got a feeling they are going under as the entire website seems to only have DVD's/Games/etc in stock. No hardware or accessories at all...not even xbox points!

    Their returns policy is weird - I didnt have to speak to anyone at any point - its all handled online (fill in a form and a return thing is generated).

    Have a look under "My Account" and it might be mentioned there.

    Ive been sent completely the wrong item in the past - bought a Jackie Chan BluRay - received "Sunshine" on DVD?

    Should be freepost return if memory serves.

    Still got £8 crying out to be put towards something... The only problem, if I "put it towards" another BluRay - I still have to stump up the £20 remainder Lol!
