Ebuyer are doing a similar deal on a PS3 - which is worth more than a Wii +Wii fit at £299. Still a good deal though. http://www.ebuyermobile.com/paymonthly/t-mobile/combi_30/nokia/3109/564579.html Envirofone will give you £12 for the phone as well - If you don't want to ebay.

Dunno whether it's a good deal or not but I can vouch for the free gift. colleague of mine got his ps3 within 5 days of sending back his voucher.

Looks an excellent spec, the 2Ah batteries are a good rating. Skil are a Bosch Group brand. These days with the way that brands are pitched and manufacturing is outsourced to China it's very hard to tell whether it will actually be any good. I would expect though that it would do very well for moderate DIY use at the least.

owlass

Depends on your needs, 18v might be too heavy if you're doing average work around the house but ideal for the heavy work. Skil are a good brand and this has long lasting 2Ah batteries  Good for normal work https://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189284 Great for normal work and masonry ]https://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2165754#post2165754

Does anyone know if this is any good. I need to buy a drill and am absolutely useless at DIY and wouldn't have a clue. Any help would be fantastic.

Oh man bummer! I paid like £99 a couple of months for the same drill! Although this was a backup as I also have the more powerful MAkita MXT 8444 with 3.0Ah batts. This is an excellent drill for the price. Buy today!

Golaboots888

I prefer the blue bosch drills to Makita. But it is a very good price. Who cares if the batteries are only 1.3AH, there are three of them. Keep one charging while using another. No issue really.

czechoslovakia

These are great. Building my own house out here in the Czech Republic and got fed up taking back burnt out drills to the shops for a refund, so bought this last year. Paid a bit more, 90 quid i think, but it came with a large drawer case with about 90 genuine makita bits. The whole set is absolute class - never broken a bit yet. Its really a drill driver for assembling kitchens and the like not for constantly drilling through brick walls. I have a Makita Hammer drill for that. Gotta say, the lower capacity batteries are no problem, as they only take 30 minutes to charge, and if you manage to discharge the other two in less than 30 minutes, your using this for something it wasnt really intended for. That said, never had a problem drilling the walls with this either when i couldnt be bothered getting the extention lead out. Voted Hot.

A 13mm chuck allows for larger shanked bits and increases torque. The 18v Makita has about 40nm torque, 12v Dewalt about 20nm but not sure about SDS but will be around 30nm. Only use SDS for drilling hard masonry, you'll end up with a hole the size of the Mersey tunnel in softer material. Drilling clean holes is down to decent bits, you can pilot drill first with a bit 2mm smaller than needed.

Lyrrad

Thanks for that, I'm always prepared to live and learn. A couple of questions I would like to ask. What advantage does a 13mm chuck give over the chuck size of the Dewalt? Do you know what the torque comparison is between the 18v Makita and the mains Dewalt? Also am I right in thinking that a SDS drill in masonry could/should help drill a clean hole. I for one find that masonry tends to disintergrate around the drill bit if not extremely careful. It's just what I've been told the SDS can/should overcome Please note I have never used SDS drill, and I am sure technique does play a part. I'm just curious to exactly what SDS does offer.

Just so your aware, the range in bandq on offer is a range sold only to bandq(from makita technical department). If you had any intention of expanding your cordless tool set this drill cannot take any other batteries and the 1.3 are not compatible with the lxt models. These are DIY tools, so if your in the trade looking to get tools for heavy use these aren't what you need. But also when comparing drills from one place to the next compare model numbers and batteries not just the title, makita do combi drills ranging from 99 up to 3-400+ that at a quick glance look very similar. Hope that helps for any future offers that seem too good to miss.

Got one myself. Comes with 2 batteries and a shedfull of bits and pieces. The drill alone with 3 batteries is £179.99 @ ]Screwfix. There are plenty of drills out there that cost far less. But for serious use I would always recomend a brand like Makita.

I just grabbed one of these and can confirm that it has 2x1.3ah batteries and a 150 piece attachment set. I saw the version with 3 batteries (1.3ah again) at £179 but that didnt have the attachment set. Didn't think that the extra battery was worth £80.

Dual was a top german brand most famous for turntables especially in the uk. They went out of business in 2001 and were bought by a chinese company so that they could sell their products into europe with a more reputable brand than their own. Dual products were originally quite high end or at least middle of the market but these chinese products are bottom end products. Perfectly servicable products though.
