LOL- Cheaper than ASDA - get PC World to price beat or Gamestation to match it...
mrbishi

It's £24.99 now and unless you have a local toysrus the £6 postage makes shopping online for games with them prohibitively expensive.

Had my "it's in stock" ie "allowed to buy" email and the pre-release un-orderable price WAS a lie, as the price you can actually order at is: Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (Nintendo DS) £28.95 ie only 21% more expensive!

quidco and topcashback too. think its 10%.

Well if you liked the first then you will like this as it is pretty much the same. Bit of story with puzzles mixed through.

So it's not like when the Harry Potter books came out & they were all delivered by owl on the morning of the release date then!!? Seriously though am loving the new game thanks to op for the tip off :)

river

wow , just ordered it , im gutted i didnt see this post earlier , it does seem to be the uk version , the us version has an different cover to the one on there web site

mk-donald

Well products are always in the distribution chain BEFORE release date - it's not as if high-security vans rush round the country overnight on each product release date - the resellers are simply embargoed from selling before the official release date. So Simply Games must have: a) sourced via a distributor/reseller who forget to mandate them as to the first date for public release; or b) they decided to ignore the release date given them via their source; or c) agreed with their source they could release early to stimulate discussions/product-awareness as we are... @Polly_P I can't see how snowbrow's quote of playing the US version has sparked talk of download sites. The DS is a region-free device. They most likely simply imported it. And as for the rest: shame on you.

Mallow2

its great :) lol

StefanL

Yeah I wasn't sure about the website, I wouldn't have posted if it wasn't endorsed by ]Gamespot ''GameSpot is a video gaming website that provides news, reviews, previews, downloads, and other information. The site was launched in May 1996 by Pete Deemer and Vince Broady. It was purchased by ZDNet, a brand which was later purchased by CNET Networks. CBS Interactive, which purchased CNET Networks in 2008, is the current owner of GameSpot. GameSpot.com is currently one of the 200 highest-trafficked websites according to Alexa.[2]''

mk-donald

'Fraid I'm a bit concerned about this supplier as I can't spot any reference to their obligations and your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. They say they accept returns but don't spell out your legal RIGHTS (in a permanent form) which I thought was a requirement of distance sellers = gives me a bad vibe. :? That and Googling for their name and published postcode giving just five hits. That's 5 hits, not 5000! :(

just checked, ive had a reply and they are going to add the discount to my order.

minxx

Got a response from my query to them, they've apologised and said they would refund the 10%

midlandscomics

The code is only for use with the 'Hot Summer Savings' offers that they currently have. It was a very poorly worded email from The Hut, as it doesn't make it clear that the 10% discount isn't for all items on the site.

limeboyjoe

i have ordered and placed an enquiry with them, i can always cancel!

Kinda VERY disappointing when they hassle you with an email SPECIFICALLY about the 10% off code from 12-2 and then it just fails to provide the discount - what wallys :whistling:

Slim battery can be pandora from software with with modded psp slim. This is old news

Dr_Frankenstein

I swear i read that if you convert a phat battery to help you freind get custom firmware on there slim their is a tool available to switch it back to a working battery anyway aha To revert to a normal battery after you've put a custom firmware): What firmware are you installing? If you installed 3.71 M33, use this method: 1) Plug in your PSP without a battery, into the AC adapter and start it up 2) Download and install the 1.50 Kernel Addon-2 (if you don't already have it. IT IS NOT THE 1.5 FIRMWARE!!!) If you already have your PSP set to the 1.50 kernel, skip to Step 6 3)Turn off the PSP, Turn it on while holding R to go into recovery the menu 4) Go to Configuration --> Homebrew Folder (you'll see it set to 3.71). Hit X to change it to 1.50 5) Hit Back, and exit the recovery menu (hit exit). (You might have to reboot your PSP after it goes into XMB) 6) After you've gotten into XMB, put the battery in and take the AC cord out. Go into the Pandora's Battery homebrew app that you used to make into a Pandora's battery. Hit "Square" to make it into a normal battery (it changes the serial # to 0x1234567). 7) Let the application exit and go back into XMB. Reboot your PSP with only the battery in to see if it worked. (If it didn't, you might have to repeat Step 6).

fungus

works with slim batteries? i really don't think so...may be wrong but I'm sure slim batteries have to be hard modded.

TheMegaMan

If you already have access to a PSP that's already been updated with custom firmware, then I believe it's possible to convert any Sony PSP battery into a Pandora battery using the PSP itself... But if you don't have access to one, then I guess this isn't so bad - certainly cheaper than the Pandora batteries on eBay, although you will probably want to buy a spare battery for this exercise, too. I assume there's no need to buy another battery if you go the 'Hot Wire' route.
