Ryobi batteries
as a new ryobi owner I have limited batteries and I was wondering where the best places to get a decent size ryobi battery from would be? 4ah or a 5ah? many thanks in advance!

Cheers for comments guys much appreciated, I have considered the non ryobi batteries but heard bad reviews also but maybe worth a punt considering it's like a 3rd of the price!! The bigger the batterey the more power it generates for them harder/thicker jobs from what I've seen anyway Thanks again guys

Unless you are a pro and need to use the tool all day you wont need a battery that size. I've got a 1.5ah for my Bosch and it lasts a very long time just doing diy jobs.

Amazon have a non genuine 2.5mah battery in the warehouse for £10.77, like new. I have a 5.0mah which looks the same, it seems as good as the original, lasts ages. I was going to buy the 2.5mah but the reviews don't seem great, I'm not sure if I need another battery really. Search on amazon for B07QPTNG9P and you'll see it.

A couple of years ago I bought some non genuine 4ah batteries (the max available then) from ebay for approx £20 each - they've been great, don't think I've ever have them run out on me. Looking now looks like you can get 2x 4ah batteries for £35 whereas the 5ah are nearer to £50 for 2. I'd go for something like these.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-4-0Ah-18V-Lithium-Battery-for-Ryobi-One-Plus-RB18L50-P102-P108-RB18L40-P104/264450941534?hash=item3d9281225e:g:6OkAAOSwprte6cKP

Amazon have offers. Add Ryobi to the alert section here so you don't miss when they come up.

Ryobi Circular Saw Recommendation
Looking to grab a circular saw for some garden DIY (decking/sleepers). Anyone got any recommendations? Was looking at either the RWSL1801M or the R18CS-0, although they look ver… Read more

I've got a ryobi cordless circular saw - it eats batteries and I doubt that it would do sleepers (depth of cut isnt great) I only got it because I got a great deal on a 5 piece kit. It also takes a slightly odd blade size. As said above a mitre saw would be a better bet.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look and see what deals are around

Yep as above maybe look into a chop saw

Unless you are cutting down 8x4 boards, you’ll get much more use out of a mitre saw.

Ryobi angle grinder for wood cutting!
Hi, I have bought this and haven’t used it but i have a small tree which I need to get rid of is there any wood cutting part which I can use for the Ryobi angle R18AG?

They have their uses, but cutting down trees is not one they are suited for! For a small tree I would use a bow saw, a bit of lubrication on the blade and make sure the blade doesn't get nipped. If you are cutting down shrubbery, then maybe get a reciprocating saw.

Hey how about using Ryobi Multi-Tool rmt1801m will this help in cutting wood?

They are usually intended to be used for carving, my father has one somewhere There is a really lethal Chinese chainsaw attachment for angle grinders, cheap, but devoid of all standard safety features, for those not too attached to retaining a full set of limbs and their head.

Thank you for the information will consider bow saw as I’m newbie in DIY and bought stuff and trying to learn

I had 2 wood blades for my angle grinder. Please please don't consider using accessories like these. The rpm is way to high for safety cutting wood. I nearly lost my finger from a kickback. The is a reason you can't buy them in shops. We don't want you in hospital right now or ever.

Or if you want real POWER try the 9ah battery! Too expensive and far too large to use in an impact wrench or drill, maybe a lawnmower?

I can only find a 3ah high energy battery

Are the new HP battaries out then too?
