It has one x 512mb in slot 1 and the same in slot 2. It said ssd above in Belarc. Not sure if it matters now, if it really needs replacing. I know it doesn't seem like alot of money, but the first micro pc you recommended above, was more within my price range. Thanks.
SSDs weren't made in 512MB capacity. Do you mean two 512MB RAM sticks or two 512GB SSDs? Maybe SD RAM if it was one of the earlier Sempron 3000+ models that pre-date DDR memory (there were several). The biggest problem is likely the lack of memory, but even if it's the least old Sempron model it's time to scrap the whole thing. £600 isn't remotely high end, home users with requirements for more computing power will spend £1500 or £2000 on a PC like a Mac Pro or Corsair One. Around £600 is just where things are going to stop improving for web use and e-mail. A three year old business PC with a Intel Haswell 4000 series processor is going to be a good balance between price, power and age.
Someone else fitted the parts for me, so I wasn't aware that it wasn't complementing each other. I don't use it very often, so haven't thought about looking into it until now. I guess I just trusted that what the guy had installed previously, to my knowledge, was adequate. Just aswell he's a distant family member, and done it as a favour; and weren't paid to do this. Thank you for all your help and suggestions anyway. I will definitely look into replacing it.
You got a AMD Sempron 3000+, the best you can upgrade is to another single core processor. The reason your PC is so slow is because you running a single core CPU with 1GB RAM (you must be really behind if you don't know this). It's time to buy a new PC.
Thanks, I bookmarked that one earlier.
