Fill it up at a spotless water if you have one anywhere near and even better cleaning (y)

I got one from Amazon got the one with all the extras (soap container , battery and charger plus the water butt , but I also purchased a 25Ltr water butt (£5ish I think it were) as the one you get doesn’t really hold enough water to wash and then wash down

If you have registered it you would get 3 years warranty. I bought mine 10 months ago and now use it maybe once every two months and still going strong. Not charged it since purchase.

Lack of use. For occasional use a corded 2 speed drill driver will last a lifetime

I have a similar problem with an old but hardly used BOSCH drill,two batteries that are now dead and I'm guessing that it's down to them being NiCad with memory effect Not sure on your problem though
