About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
i find keeping one of these on my keyring comes in really handy when supermarket shopping or for the gym locker.
Great for selling for £1 at your local supermarket to raise funds for charity or school funds.
some 'unscrupulous' people have been known to use these in pool tables but that would be illegal.

Wouldn't you, knowing what he's got to do on Christmas eve!?
I remember the snack machine we had at school, once your put in your selection if your pressed the return money button fast enough it would dispense the snack and give you all of your money.
It's split 50/50 round our way between supermarkets that require a £1 and those that don't. The ones that don't have magnetic sensors on the car park exits that jam the brakes on the wheels and stop you from taking the trolley outside the grounds.
I remember when I was a kid in the 80/90's and Asda first introduced a 10p deposit on the trolleys. We used to get an old style drinks can ring pull, bend it over and fool the trolley that it was a real coin. We used to sell the trolleys on to unsuspecting customers. Back then with the old fasioned tills at our Asda (before they had conveyor belts) you used to have to get all your shopping out for the assistant to price it, but when you went to put it back in again the way the system worked you actually put it into the trolley in front meaning that the customer behind would automatically end up with your trolley. A ideal opportunity to make 10p every time! (which was worth a tad more back then). You'd have it done back to you every now again but customer services would always refund and losses. I've grown up a bit since then though! ;-)
I remember in Germany even in the 90's a lot of their vending machines and telephones would be tricked by old style English 5p coins thinking thy were Deutsch Marks, which were worth about 40p. They have a lot of roadside cigarette machines in Germany too!

or you could just hand your trolley over and take the other persons pound - lol. pmsl
LOL
If only everyone was as innocent as you Pegjes44.
Possibly a small charity that cannot buy in bulk and could make £18 if sold for £1 each!?

I've not seen a supermarket ask for a pound for a trolley for a few years now.

They are not the same weight of a pound coin.
Which is one of the many different ways that coin machines know a genuine coin or not.
Both my morrsions and asda do
Seriously? Nearly every supermarket I go to requires a pound. Do you live in one of those towns where crime-rate is magnificently low?

Had one for years and have a pile in the kitchen drawer for when I eventually lose one.
