Well this is false, when was the last time you went into a supermarket. … Well this is false, when was the last time you went into a supermarket. Aldi only stock a small range of products in comparison to the bigger supermarkets. Aldi products that I have tried are generally poorer quality. Everything is vac packed whereas most supermarkets like tesco and morrison etc offer fresh pancakes, cakes, bread, deli, meat, fish, pizza, salad. Aldi is ok if you are a budget shopper with low expectations

We get it. Every single one of your posts is bigging up Morrisons or pouring your scorn and derision on Aldi, Lidl and the people who shop there. We really get it. So why don't you just step out of the Aldi/Lidl threads and let those of us who do appreciate these deals get on with it? Or are you just trolling for a reaction? Or maybe you're a Morrison's employee afraid for your job?

Just had a look at the one deal you have posted.

Blimey there's a lot of vitriol being spouted on there, chiefly by your good self.

I can see you have an issue with Aldi, but for others (myself included) it is pretty much the place to shop. I shall now go and have some Aldi orange juice, that refreshes my low expectations quite admirably.

He's probably worried about his chatting time at Morrisons.

He's probably thinking at this rate he might be made redundant from Morrison's and might have to get a job at Aldi. Then he would have to work efficiently and sell quality goods at affordable prices.

He probably only knows how talk to other Morrison employees and how to sell low quality rubbish at inflated prices.

    I'd feel sorry for him.

Shopping bills have certainly come down by a signifficant sum every year. I'd rather a penny in my pocket than a penny in someone elses!

They do have dates, ask one of the staff to explain it to you. It's a 4 digit code basically so for example, if it was the 13th week of the year today. The code would be 1302, 02 for the second day of the week etc. Hope that makes sense. I always thought they had no dates too!!!

ooh pancakes, would rather have fresh home made pancakes made using ingredients from Aldi.

Really not difficult, I shop in ALDI a fair bit but use the vouchers to stock up for a month.

    5 Blocks of cheese
    Parmesan
    Assorted tins
    Bacon
    Steak
    Milk and Bread
    Cake
    Nappies

Really not that difficult to spend £40. quite simple, whatever you would buy in Tesco, instead buy it in ALDI.

What is it about ALDI that is so attractive I can't spend up to £40 there

    How ?

I do a months shop there, it comes to about £90 including a few things from the goodies isle! There is nothing in Asda/Tesca/Morrisons you cant get in Aldi.

Where are you sourcing this info from, nothing has been confirmed in either newspaper as yet, and also the last one you put on was incorrect as the offer was not available in the Daily Record. Until this has been confirmed you are guessing that the promotion will be running. Please confirm your source !

Tesco and Morrison are ok if you have money to waste with low expectations. Seriously, get along to your local butcher if you want quality meat and deli.

Salad? Hmmm, I'm sure that Aldi sell tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber etc and not just vac packed salad bowls.

Do you just shop on one side of the supermarket (deli, 'butchers' etc) and ignore what's on the isles?

As for quality, not a chance. Aldi matches the other supermarkets (and often exceeds) own brands but usually with a lower price. Of course, pay 4x more for a tin of branded chopped tomatoes then you will notice a difference in taste (and ingredients!).

I prefer to cook my own pancakes, cakes and bread, gammon, roasts, chilli's and bolognaise, cottage pies and currys. All with things like "ingredients" that Aldi DO sell.I buy a lot more fruit and veg than ever before and whats weird is that I am not forced to buy 2 packs of grapes or 3 packs of meat. I can buy what I WANT and how many - and still get the same prices as the forced deals by other supermarkets.

to be fair to the other supermarkets, they're now pricing the fresh fruit and veg to more or less Aldi prices. That tells us just how they've been ****ing us for years.

I think fresh pancakes are the that come shrink wrapped with 4 or 5 days best before date. Aldi sell them.

Do you use 2 vouchers at once or one week after another?

That's exactly what I do, because if you buy 2 not only do you get another £5 off next weeks shopping but you also get 2 x money off vouchers that are on offer, sometimes it is things you buy and other times it is not what you want/buy.

I take the money off vouchers with me to Aldi and if I see someone buying the goods on offer via the money off vouchers I give them the voucher as I know I won't be using it.
  20. retrogeezer's avatar
I leave the vouchers I don't use on the items they are for.....and I've even wandered around looking for someone that look like they could do with the £5 off voucher in the 2nd week if I'm not going to use it!

That four bird roast for £4.19 is something like £9.99 at xmas!

Wow- thank you to the posters who gave the tip about getting 2 papers and spacing the vouchers out- I never even thought of that. Did my first shop today. Potatoes 2.5kg for 49p, mange tout, 49p ( I used to pay 2 for £3- £3.50 in Tesco) pack of leeks, 49p, smoked Mackeral, fruit and fibre, ginger biscuits, 25p.. Stocked up on toiletries- brilliant!!
