About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
The lowest ever price (was £249)!
Waterproof.
To buy without a mandatory top-up:
There is a 'Keep Existing SIM' option at the bottom of the 'Bundles' page, which allows you to purchase a PAYG phone without a top-up. Unfortunately Vodafone now hides this button a few seconds after the page has loaded. You have to be quick to click the button, if you miss it simply hit F5 or the 'Refresh' button on your browser to reload the 'Bundles' page and try again.

Not available to buy instore.

Another way to "catch" the keep existing sim button is to use Firefox, click "View - Page Style - No Style" and the text page appears. The button doesn't disappear. Ctrl-F to search for "Keep" and job done. I'm sure other browsers may have this feature, but I have checked this in Firefox on a Mac and it works.

£12 for unlock
On the other hand the camera is a bit ropey. Very hit or miss in anything other than perfect lighting which is frustrating. Also the waterproof flap thing fell off which has also happened to a couple of other people I know.
On balance I think I love it mostly because it's so practical. It's small, fairly robust (except for the back glass) and never dies on me.
Damn... since writing this my screen has peeled off and the whole phone has given up on me. Oh well, still loved it. RIP Z3 Compact

Usually I'd agree but if you have Jeremy Beadle hands this will be better. Battery life looks good, although camera seems like a let down and its stuffed with bloat, something you don't get on the SU6.
This was £430 on release!!

Phone manufacturers go to great lengths in order to protect their handsets from accidental splashes and mishaps, yet they are rewarded by idiots putting them in a bucket/bath and then complaining when they don't work. I'm with Sony on this one.
It's a phone, not a rubber duck.

What's that through voda or fleabay? -still the best price around by far right now so I'm in. Ta OP

the second one...
Ps, the fm radio is excellent and hardly uses any battery, seems to only lose one per cent an hour, very approximately.

Vodafone web site says £19.99 for unlock
Just search eBay using "vodafone uk unlock xperia z3" or similar.
Read the OP, you don't need to buy the £10 credit.
As someone else suggested, if you're buying one of these get a magnetic charging cable too. The Magnector X-202 is good.
I appreciate that if something says it's waterproof then it should be waterproof, but in these sorts of cases (sensitive and expensive electronics devices) it should really be thought of as a "just in case" feature and not just a given.

Found it impossiblr to buy using the Chrome browser though.
Also not sure why others have had problems with its waterproof feature - mine has been in water tons of time....esp in the swimming pool. I have taken pictures underwater too - which were pretty good BTW.
All in all - good phone and good deal.
moto x play for £50 more?

The battery is excellent - I get about 2-3 days on normal usage. Also, the dedicated camera button is a plus.
Great phone with great spec and £149 is great deal.
Full spec available at device comparison, which is a great site for comparing 4 phones side by side.

Simple remove style="display: none;" from div class="row similar-products" style="display: none;"

The camera isn't bad, but not fantastic either. Results can be a bit hit and miss. I do love the dedicated camera button though, namely for how quick it is to actually get to the position where you can take a photo. My old iPhone was always slightly annoying for that if you were trying to get the camera app open quickly. The thing the camera seems to struggle with the most is direct sunlight, I've put a link to a photo where this effect is present below.

Regarding the internal storage, 16GB isn't a lot, but due to the expandable storage, it ends up not being an issue at all. I've got a 64GB card in mine which is absolutely ideal. I've never had to delete any photos, videos or music to free up storage, it also means I can have my large Spotify premium playlists downloaded for use in the car.
Spoke too soon, got an email overnight stating delivery today! Happy days...!
I don't think it's *going to great lengths* creating ports that lose their watertightness everytime you open them, ports needed to charge the phone. If they advertise their phones being used in pools, you'd think they would withstand splashes of water, or even rain! (yup, they've broke because of rain too). The only thing they've gone to great lengths with is how to avoid repair. I always wanted a Z phone, but after doing a ton of research I was very disheartened.
I used Here Maps on my Android for about 2 journeys having seen good things about it then I very quickly uninstalled and reverted to the free NavMii as Here Maps almost literally sent me round in circles (not actually literally as it was actually more like a rectangle)
I ordered on Sunday and I'm on stage 2 of 4, according to the Vodafone Tracking site.
"Your order has been accepted. We've placed your order."
I know with the Z3 they used DRM keys to limit functionality of the phone, if you tampered too much. Look into it, not sure if it's the same with the Z3 Compact.
