Big jump to suggest I'm deterring people from learning, just suggesting that from experience, distance learning a visual language doesn't equip a person to converse compared to a person that has had face to face learning.
Nope I don't teach anymore so not earning anything from promoting classes.
You should take up the course then when you have your 'qualification' I will happily take you to a deaf club and watch you try and communicate effectively.
All the time on here!!!
Kidding. This is a person I made up just to fantasise grabbing by the throat. Ever do the same? Heat.
There's plenty of level 1 BSL courses around the country, should be one near you. Only go for Signature approved courses if you want the qualification to mean anything going for a job though.
Yeah, I was going to say the same about the cert. All these cheap online courses with a cert, the cert is just junk from a nobody institute... and you usually have to pay extra to get the cert.
You're better off doing a Signature level 1 course, this course qualification is worth nothing vocationally. You can do a deaf awareness course which will include some BSL, that takes a lot less time.
Only IF when going 'direct' you use this code: ONE10FEB instead?.
Otherwise the OP's one will rather prove to be a tad bit cheaper instead ...
In London there's a massive deaf community so they're should be loads, I'll ask a Interpreter friend of mine, he lives in London.
Try the code secret
I thought that that code was 'secret' too, or something ...
Hehehehehehe.
Veryyyyy true that, I couldn't agree with you more there ... :-D
Life at time's, huh?, lol.
Doesn't work for me
Better than a paid course people will never use..
lol? people would throw a deaf kid under a bus for a free mcds son
Are you stating that it is impossible to learn BSL properly alone? Define "properly".
All you have done with your post is to deter people from learning, which was presumably not your aim. Unless you are worried people learning online means less money for you if you still teach it or intend to do so again in future.
I'm vaguely interested in doing something like as it would be something useful to have as part of my job, although it's no where near a requirement. I would never have to time or want to be totally honest to do the full course at uni/elsewhere so is this worth doing as even a rough guide towards BSL?
This one does ...
Try this code instead: ONE10FEB.
Your welcome, lol. :-D
And it's site wide as well!! (so NOT just for the Sign Language course/courses alone ... )
So fill your boot's, yes, but use it wisely.
Enjoy your Day everyone.
"You can do a deaf awareness course which will include some BSL, that takes a lot less time."
I've heard of that, I'm intrigued ...
Are Deaf Awareness course's common then? (genuine question).
I'm in London, so wouldn't mind to have an idea such thing's around me, etc ... thanx.
Sweeeeeeet!!, cool, I'll await, thanx.
