    Great deal Mark!

Wasn't willing to splash out over £250 for an Xbox 360, but with the quidco cashback and boots points, its very tempting

I bought mine this way, a month ago and I received my quidco money already. It's an unbeatable deal, IMHO.

not sure if to use this deal or get one of amazon as i have gift balance of £70 left .....does anyone know if the PS3 will be better and what price that will be?

Will i need this premium pack as i dont play games much and may just use it with broadband now and then? as the core pack is only £199
  13. deleted18470's avatar
A-n-d-y if you go with the Boots Xbox you get to save £70ish in total. Together with the Amazon £70 you'll have saved up (as it were) £140!

As for the PS3 it's scheduled to launch in the UK at the end of Feb or early March with a rumoured price of £400ish and upwards. I would say that as a minimum, 400 sounds about right considering Americans are paying about 600USD (not including american sales tax) for the basic model.

(Note: don't bother converting 600USD to GBP and thinking the resulting number is the price we will paying. Add 17.5% VAT to it and a few more % and you'll be closer).

Does a stand-alone XBox 360 come with a demo disc of games to play so you've got something to play with until you buy a proper game?

My 360 purchase from Boots never even got tracked. The enquiry I lodged is still in limbo:

    31 Aug 2006 Boots.com 207.89 12.47 sent to merchant :-(

I too did this amazing deal about a month ago and got £34 worth of advantage card points...have yet to receive my Quidco cashback. I think it worked out with all the discounts about £197-£202  brilliant deal and recommended
  18. staffiebull's avatar
i haven't got an advantage card, looks like i'll have to get down the shop tomorrow for a 'temporary one'

No demo disc, but if you connect to XBOX live you get 1 month free gold membership with loads of game demos available. I was left with no games for a week when I bought mine.

Well I picked up an XBOX 360 premium today with the following:

    XBOX 360 Premium
Wireless Entertainment pack (PGR3 + Arcade game + Extra wireless controller)
Rechargeable battery pack (strange since you can't charge it with anything in this bundle!)
    Gears of War Special Edition

    All for £299 at Gamestation.

I wanted 2 controllers and GOW and also the battery so this is the best bundle i've found so far (for me anyway). Also don't have to muck about with Quidco and vouchers. Think the offer may end this Sunday (3rd) according to the website. Even though they didn't have the offer in store, I took a printout of it and they said it was a valid offer and gave me the kit.

Agreed on the Gamestation offer. For those *wanting* the extra bits...

    - 2nd wireless controller (~£30)
    - PGR3 + another game of choice (~£35 + ~£35)
    - Rechargeable battery pack (~£10)
    - XBL Arcade (~£25)

...you'd have to spend a lot more than the 70ish that would be saved on the Boot's deal!

now all I have to do is persuade the Mrs before I go down there. North London derby first though and if we win I might just buy two!!

definitely worth buy from boots, even without discount. their policy allows you to get refund in the warranty period (with any reported issues), provided if they don't have in stock

How do you use existing points online with Boots? I have about £35 worth on my card, which would obviously take this down further.

Can someone confirm that triple points would apply to this purchase.

Under the terms and conditions it says:

Not available online on boots phones, boots wines, boots entertainment, boots flowers, boots kitchen appliances, DVD Rental, BUPA Health Checks, Boots Travel Shop and Boots Digital Photo Centre, Boots services websites (Opticians, Boots Insurance Services) or with other third party websites unless otherwise stated.

Does the XBox 360 not come under entertainment?

    Hi all,

Can I ask for help please.....this is off topic of the deal but I really need the help of you peeps as some of you have actually already got the Xbox 360 already.

I want to buy the console for my new fella for crimbo,,,but I have no clue what's about / what he needs / wants.

I am a gadget girl so once I'm told I'm into it but not being a gamer have no clue at the mo.

When you just buy the 'console' at about £200 whats the dif between this and the 'premium'

He doesn't have access to the internet (although I do) so he won't be able to do the 'Live' thing unless he brings it round mine.

He's not very technically minded but he really wants this.

Sorry I didnt know where to ask but thought one of you kind gents could explain/pm or point me in the direction for some info.

Thanx so much, mucho appreciated xxxxxxxxxxxx
