This is the absolute cheapest laptop I've found that can run Win 11, with 16gb RAM, 500gb SSD, an OK CPU and thunderbolt for 1 cable docking.

8gb is getting a bit low this day, especially if you're like me and have a lot of web apps open at one time.

Obviously no good for gaming especially with that piddly little screen, but great if it's what you are looking for.

You can stack it with SAVEMORE10 for another 10% off. If this does have Thunderbolt then you could, in theory, add an eGPU later. It is pretty good with the 16GB onboard RAM as most X280 systems will be the 8GB model. Only 5 left in stock though.

oh, what!? that's annoying. I didn't know about the voucher stacking and I bought one already.

Haha, I had this thought, too, maybe get an eGPU off CEX later, as most games are GPU-bottlenecked. So it should still run most stuff on basic.

CPU is definitely borderline though, it's about equal to a i5-2500 which is getting a bit bottlenecky especially for strategy games. I know as that's what my PC is. Still fine for everything else, though. Amazing how long that CPU has remained useful.

Also, there were 3 left when I bought, so it's possible they may have more stock than advertised. (edited)

I have the 8GB version - and I would get the 16GB if I had my time again as the 8GB RAM gets close to maxing out. It does run Windows 11 and (if you want it) Android Subsystem (Google Play and Apps) fine. I pimped mine with a faster WiFi card, 2TB SSD and a second SSD in the WWAN slot (for system image backups). I'm really happy with it and like the small form factor, USB charging and a nice keyboard. Seems like a decent price to me (my 8GB was £130 a year ago). Thinkpads are tough old birds and should last a good while.

Decent enough if portability is high on the list.

I have a now ancient X300 from around 2008 and had to move from Windows 10 to Linux within the last year as it only has 2gb ram and a 60gb SSD, and was getting more sluggish with every major update. Works perfectly fine with Linux Mint.

So plenty of life in this one if willing to be more adventurous than Windows when 11 or 12 inevitably gets too bloaty.

Windows 11 24H2 will see a lot of people want to jump ship once it rolls out. For the Adobe power users and Office users they will jump to macOS as that's their only option. Some people will jump to Linux. I'm a daily Linux user, it is all about using the right OS for the workload. For example if I used Adobe apps then I need to use either Windows or macOS, Linux is absolutely no good for that purpose as it doesn't support Adobe apps or rather Adobe doesn't support Linux. The same is true of Office 365, you can try it online but really power users want standalone apps and MS doesn't support Office on Linux.

    Windows 11 24H2 is WORSE THAN Windows 8 | RANT:30

haha, thanks. In 13 years, this is the first time I've found a good deal that wasn't through HUKD.

Got one on the last deal. Absolutely blown away by it, coming from my X220 (obviously - but it's exactly what I needed, for minimal cash!)

Well done on selling the store out of your find , they do say some of the best deals are the ones that go out of stock the quickest, and that looks to be the case here ! Thanks for sharing your find as your first post to the community too !

Been cheaper before for the exact same deal last month at £139.99
Correction: The price is £133.87 after adding both vouchers, so it is actually slightly cheaper than last month deal. (edited)

I managed to get one of these. I only really need it for VS Code so sure this can handle that without any issues.
