22% OFF any purchase at Halfords

A bit long winded but here is the guide how to get 22% off any purchase at Halfords.

First get yourself £15.95 Toyota Owners Club Premium membership here (*credit to jamesm182*):

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/membership/

It gives 15% discount for in store Halfords purchases (NOTE - only 10% for bikes).

Or alternatively get yourself a British Cycling £21 FAN membership (£18.90 if paying by DD). Membership gives you 10% in-store discount including Boardman bike range. Ask your friends who might already have it.
Calculate the cost of your purchase after the discount and buy Halfords gift vouchers with 10% discount here:

http://select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/

Codes - MCOUNTHal09, ELGHAL13, NRTSCHAL13 - all give 10% off :)

You need to register with the Select site first in order to apply the code. There is £2 delivery charge for Recorded delivery or £7 for RM Special delivery.

In order to purchase more than £300 you will need to keep adding the maximum to your basket, for example add 20 x £10 vouchers to your basket and then go back to the catalogue and add another 20 x £10 vouchers etc.

Many large employers and shopping clubs do have dedicated discount code for the site. You can register with The Big Saving Club, Ideal Extras club, JML (both gives 8% discount though)

http://thebigsavingsclub.com
http://www.myidealrewards.com
Lotus, Escort Cabriolets club members and Morton Michel policy holders also get 10% discount:
http://www.seloc.org/membership/benefits/lifestyle/
http://www.escortcabrioletclub.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/18253-halfords-discount-vouchers/
https://www.mortonmichel.com/ChildCareClub/Early-Years-Products/
http://www.travelcambs.org.uk/cycle-shop-discounts/

Alternatively you can buy some Halfords gift vouchers at Zeek (usually 8-10% discount) which can be handy for smaller purchases:
https://www.zeek.me/buy-gift-vouchers/halfords

Now order your item via Quidco (3%) or TCB (3.03%) and use Reserve&Collect service.

Make the journey to the store once order is available to collect and get your goods :)

This method will work on anything including sale items.

ADVISE NOTE:
If your payment for gift voucher order is not accepted DO NOT try again. PHONE your bank - they did flag your transaction as fraudulent. Request them to remove the bar then wait at least 30 minutes to an hour before trying again.

It is not quick way to get a discount (like code or price error) but you get it on top of sales prices too.

How do you get the 10% off?

I pay £15 for the membership then I get 10% off code and that only makes it total 10% off. Not sure if i missed something.

Has anyone got this to work ie using the British cycling voucher with gift vouchers?
Did the staff not query this turn it down??

Edited By: Andrewolu on Jul 11, 2013 22:55: Question.

You make a C&C reservation, turn up at the store, show your BC voucher and after they take your discount pay the balance in Halfords vouchers. I have done for three bikes with no questions asked. Even if you don't make reservation, shop staff would price match online price if you ask to do so. BC discount would be applied regardless. I hope it helps.

senukas - I have realised that this is all going to work except for web exclusive items. you can get web exclusive items delivered to the store, but you have to pay for them online in order that they be delivered. both the staff vouchers and the british cycling discount have to be used in store - neither work online. so i cannot get any discount on web exclusive products. good find for everything else though!

You can hand over any quantity of vouchers, they are treated like cash...

The CAMHal12 Discount code for 10% off the price of vouchers doesn't seem to be working anymore. Is it just me or have they stopped it today?

Just tried - works fine! You need to register FIRST with the website before applying any discount codes to the order.

Brilliant, ordered vouchers Fri, came today - bit of a PANIC as site still said processing order this morning and the British Cycling membership benefit (10% in-store discount) voucher says ends 31st July 2013 - be quick!

Postie came with them at about 11 - so off I went, they matched web price for all my stuff and they have buy 3 pay for two on accessories too!

True HUKdealer, glad it did help :) As for BC benefit voucher - don't panic, they are regularly updated, just print new one in August (probably would be valid until end of September).

Worked perfectly! Shame about the halfords staff, bike was suppose to be ready Friday but wasn't in stock till Monday then when picking up wasn't built!!!

I complained and got £40 off the bike. With this, the vouchers, cycling club discount and TCB a Carrera vulcan bike only cost me £248 from £360 (originally £490) ........I'd call that a bargain !!

Thanks OP

Great post OP

Any idea if the reserve and collect (So Quidco cashback and online price), and the British Cycling 10% discount work for Cycle to Work purchases - where you have a letter of collection for the a certain value that you can spend on the bike at Halfords?

Cheers

No idea on this but worth a try. I don't know C2W conditions but you can always turn "dumb mode" and try to bulldoze the deal :)

Hot from me. Will use to buy a Boardman Hybrid next time they have a sale :)

A question though - when entering a billing address for Halfords Business Select it asks for company name as a required field. maybe a daft question but what do I enter?

Can't remember any such requirement, try to leave blank or just put a dash or just company name you work for...

Just to point out that it seems the British Cycling membership offers 15% off for this month for online orders only.

So this may be an option for those who would rather avoid the extra hassle and save a little less.

Save 15% off parts, accessories and clothing

Halfords Offer dates: August 1-31

Members can now save 15% on over 15,000 products from 185 leading specialist brands online at Halfords. This is a limited time offer which will end on 31st August 2013.

To get this benefit, as well as all the other great benefits on offer, you can join British Cycling for just over £2 a month. If you’re already a member, click on ‘Claim Benefit’ below to find out the redemption process.

Also worth saying that Quidco cashback for Halfords is now 4.5%.

FYI - I ordered something online using the 15% off - to collect and pay in-store, then used my 10% in-store voucher too!
#36
But is the 15% applicable to bikes? The above implies not.

Also has anyone tried this trick with the wiggle shop? British Cycling state 15%
#37
Yes it does say "Save 15% off parts, accessories and clothing" not tried it on a bike, got that last week!

Hi. If Halfords do the 10% off at bank Holiday weekend they usually do on Boardman Bikes can you use the BC discount voucher also in conjunction with the 10 % already off along with all the other discount methods as discussed? i.e BC discount, Quidco & Halfords vouchers?

Thanks for response, but when you say pay in store you just mean order bike and go along with all your vouchers etc to collect bike in store? sorry for being a bit dim.
