sorted byWhat petrol do you put in these?? Leaded or unleaded. Also is there any indication of what cc the motor is??
Thinking of getting one tomorrow morning. I found a much cheaper one at screw fix but its only 25cc. I want at least 42cc.
Pull choke (plastic tab at back)
Start engine
Press both levers together, this then releases the choke and off I go.
Make sure the choke is releasing, other than that i'm not sure, it's the easiest starting machine I have owned.
It is heavy but well made. Went mad in the garden and filled 3 bins in very short time!
Cheers

I've got the electric 2 in 1 version and my pole prunner seems blunt after 12 or so cuts
Unit is robust enough for light to med work, bit of a pain when the extension pole attached , which you do as without it it is easier to use a normal saw, hedgecutter as the reach is not much more. It can be a little awkward with the extra pole as not very balanced so take care. No problem with the engine on mine started first time, most starting problems after running are down to people putting to much oil in the fuel as they think it is good to have a bit more, this just clogs everything up (spark plug , carb) and it will not start.
On the 3 headed trimmer / strimmer the whole tool vigorously vibrates which is incredibly hard to hold onto. The vibration is so strong that it's hard to let go of the acceleration button to prevent it spinning at high speed. Also because it's so strong the on/off button is hard to reach as full effort is put into holding the strimmer.
Another issue I had with it was that it would vibrate so much that the on button kept moving forward on its own accord and therefore turned the engine off requiring it to be restarted again.
I have returned this product to Lidl as I don't believe it's safe as it appears faulty and should not be operating in this manner. Lidl have thankfully refunded me the money. I'm usually pretty impressed with lidl's products however this is not something which I would buy again from there

I googled that and it came up with a chain, if I wanted to sharpen the chain, what do I need? Is it difficult to sharpen a chain?
Thanks

Not a difficult job but you need to buy a chain sharpening tool,i don,t use mine to often so rather than buying a sharpener i take the chain to my local ironmonger who do the sharpening for reasonable price.
How much do you pay to get it sharpened? I think a chain is @ £10
Lidl have a good one when its available HUK deal or Amazon should have something similar.
Can't remember the exact price though it was cheaper than a new chain.

I have the latter and it's simple and quick to use.

looks ok
1. Weighs a ton, after a while you really feel like you have been put trough the ringer, arms ache, wrist, the worst thing is at high revs the engine vibrates terrible, its like a hammer action coming from the motor end .
2. The hedge cutter attachment, is poorly designed, you really need to swing the cutter into the hedges to actually get it to cut anything.
After using it for half a hour, I felt like one of those cartoon characters, I was vibrating so much.
3. The strimmer attachment, works well, very powerful, but the guard vibrates terrible on full revs, it nearly shakes your your guts out, afterwards you feel like you just gone five rounds with Mike Tyson in his prime.
4. You need to wear thick leather gloves, as the vibration from this thing, will leave you with tingling hands and fingers afterwards, and in hot weather, its uncomfortable .
5. You definitely need to wear ear protection.
It is well made, but in my humble opinion, poorly designed .
Not for me, I,m sending it back, will try a screw fix Titan Multi tool ?.
When it was working it was great but the badly placed on/off switch did keep flipping to the off position. I fixed this with a couple of rubber bands which gave enough resistance to keep the switch in the on position while working.
I am now looking for a replacement and hope that ALDI have something similar but better in the near future.
Bought one. Worked ok for a year then the petrol hose inside the tank broke somehow. Returned it 3 weeks after 1 year warranty expired and Screwfix said they were not prepared to do anything. I should go fix it myself!! I was so angry I left it outside the shop. Most parts were still unused and in original wrap. Yes I was that angry. Call me silly, 'twas principle. Will never do Screwfix ever again thanks!
