Coo. Quicker than my i5-540m. Shame let down by the integarted graphics, but this doesn't look bad at all.

Not sure what max memory is as this model isn't on Acer's site - "special" dixons model i guess.

how much better are the new 2nd gen i3's. i was looking at getting a i3-370, would this be much slower?
#9
not very knowledgable when it comes to these things but im thinking this is a better deal than the tesco one is that right
#10
the second gen i3 is as good at if not slightly better than the first gen i5
#11
Cancelled a previous order with Dixon's over 6 weeks ago before it was delivered. Still waiting to be refunded!!!
Might try and talk them into giving me this instead plus a discount for holding onto my money.

Different specs for the same model such as 0.3 or 1.3mp web cams or no web cam. Also 320gb, 500gb or 640gb hdd. 4gb or 6gb of memory. Top spec is 1.3mp web cam, 640gb hdd and 6gb memory for £499.
#15
if you want an extra 2gb of ram and 180gb of hardrive for an extra£45 this may be an option

Thanks- ordered, heat added.

#24

Hummmm second gen cpu - check, usb 3 - check, hdmi - check, hd graphics - check, right price - check, could be a purchase for me.
#26
Ordered. Thanks :-)
#27
I've ordered too.

Been looking for an i3, with HDMI, 4Gb RAM, webcam and reasonable sized HD.

Cheapest I got prior to this was a Lenovo, which was £60 (before quidco).

Great find, thanks. (My first Acer so hopefully it'll be OK).
#28
Stonking deal.

Not that many first gen i3 about for this price.

Have ordered, if quidco tracks I'll be a very happy bunny
#29
Quidco has tracked for me, @ 6% of £300 (ie £400, less the 10% voucher code = £360, then less VAT = £300. So 6% of £300 = £18ish.) Better than a kick in the teeth :)

Am I missing something stupid?

Looks like there's two different links on the Dixons site to this laptop.

http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/acer-aspire-5750-4gb-core-i3-laptop-black-09933670-pdt.html?srcid=369&xtor=AL-63

http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/acer-aspire-5750-4gb-core-i3-laptop-black-09933620-pdt.html

Are there any differences?

So it was something stupid! Cheers.

The £282 pc is out of stock.

It was a fantastic price though.

I might wait another 2 weeks before getting a core i3 laptop, as the sandy bridge M cpus are just beginning to appear, so prices should settle fairly quickly.
#35
If only i needed a laptop this looks just what i would of wanted.

I think the deal posted here is much better than that link you posted
#39
I agree.
Both Acer i3-2310M deals posted are better than the i5-450M.
#40
I've been researching laptops for a few weeks now and this is the best value good laptop I've seen. It's got the very latest sandy bridge 2nd gen i3. This is supposed to give a big graphical performance increase over 1st gen i3 integrated graphics.

£400 seems a very good deal anyway, so further discounts are quite fantastic. I'm going to PC World tomorrow to test the hardware. I would personally prefer no number pad, which would allow for bigger arrow keys and keyboard, and also centre the touchpad. I think it's only really HP and Apple who follow that approach though.
